I completely agree. I am of no doubt there is a deliberate ploy by the state to push these issues, considering how badly the other areas are being managed.
That's all that needed saying really. Right to be angry, looking in the wrong direction for why it's the case though. The vast majority of immigrants remain law abiding, hardworking people who pay their taxes and do work that we either lack enough skilled people of our own to do, or it's work that's too poorly paid or with too unappealing conditions to attract homegrown workers.
Theres a lot of sense in what you say of course. Lots of people have become valuable citizens but then you read articles that suggest 50% of Londons social housing stock is occupied by foreign born people and many of them are also very reliant on a burgeoning welfare state. How the hell did that come to be ? It doesn’t all add up to me
Again you’re throwing Yvette cooper at me like it’s a gotcha. I’m not particularly happy with the authoritarian stance of the current Labour government. Especially with the online safety act, which in my eyes is a flagrant abuse of power, and one again that opens the floodgates to all sorts of issues to privacy.
Migrants who have come here and had their application refused of course need to be removed from the country. Asylum seekers regardless of how they came here need to have the claims processed far more quickly than they are being now and the practice of using hotels to 'hold' them has to stop.

According to the refugee convention which we're signed up to, you cannot discriminate someone's claim based on how they entered the country. By definition you cannot be an illegal asylum seeker until the claim has been refused.
Well the French should be trying much harder to stop them leaving in the first place.
Could we perhaps bring back national service to allow the common man the opportunity to prevent them arriving?
