Just to clarify, I don't think Biamou is a brilliant player, (although he does score some brilliant goals). I just don't get the need to write him or other players off because that's what we do.
I think Bakayoko has generally been poor since he arrived but does show on occasions glimpses of why we signed him. Peterborough away and Tuesday night he was excellent (both games playing as one of two up front). Some posters constantly say how crap he is when, if you are objective, you can see that there is something there.
I honestly think that some people would rather see us lose with their 'crap' player doing badly than to see them play well and the team win.

It’s the opposite I’m just coldly objective

In league games (this is a league game) Biamou has a lamentable scoring record. In fact in league one Godden has scored more in one game than Biamou in his career

He doesn’t create goals either. I think he’s got 5 credited assists in his whole league career

If Tuesday was a league game he wouldnt have scored.

I’m not being funny when I say this but I bet you refer to all other players not by their first name

He is a cult hero which transcends his ability
Pretty sure i called Matt Godden, "Matt" in the same post.

I expected more for a 750k signing hopefully he kicks on to prove us all wrong and fires us to promotion

He has been injured for half the time he’s been with us... to be balanced.
Sounds like he might be carrying that injury again lately prob require surgery in the summer then. Not sure he's good enough for championship but let's get there first I suppose

I think his old injury has flared up again, and it is being kept quite.
Fair play to him if he is playing on to help the promotion push. Most players wouldn’t .
Can see him having an operation at the end of the season.

Danny Ings was shite when he went to Liverpool and could not get a sniff before was injured and then he has now become a real potent force with Southampton

I think Baka is best finisher we have at the club, said it before whether that is good enough at this level is debatable....

If keeping the same formarion with one up top for Bolton - which I hope we don't personally - then it's Godden for me for sure up top on own.

I don't think the other two are as effective as Godden up top on own - however if Robins decides to play two up top then think Baka and Biamou
work well together as a two so would start them.

I would like to go two up top at home to Bolton but not sure MR will risk it we will see - 3 points a must either way,

Scored 9 in 20 appearances been subbed a few times or substitute. Admittedly doesn’t make him a Harry Kane but then with 6 goals from 20 appearances there’s Callum Wilson, how many millions ?

It’s a completely different level therefore a pointless comparison

League One Strikers shots on target %

Marcus Forss 70%
Kayden Jackson 66%
Mohamed Eisa 63%
Colby Bishop 59%
Freddie Ladapo 58%
Matt Godden 58%
Ronan Curtis 58%
Tyler Walker 57%
Liam Boyce 57%
Ched Evans 56%
Johnson Clarke-Harris 56%
Dion Charles 55%
James Norwood 54%
Ivan Toney 53%
Kieran Sadlier 52%
Darryl Murphy 50%
Michael Smith 49%
Tarique Fosu Henry 49%
Marcus Maddison 49%
Ian Henderson 48%
Adebayo Akinfenwa 48%
Armand Gnanduillet 46%
James Henry 45%
Paddy Madden 44%
Chris Maguire 42%

Therefore... Godden is upper mid table when it comes to minutes between goals, but 5th in the league when it comes to hitting the target. So that shows you it is not about being shite, not about being injured or just generally poor- give him a chance and he's up with the best to be on target, but it is that fact that he plays in a team that does not create huge amounts of chances, he has a much bigger role than just being a goalscorer.

More evidence showing that Godden is a 'team player' as opposed to an all out goalscorer. He doesn't get too many chances, is pretty good at putting them away when he does, and because he doesn't get too many chances he goes a while between goals.

Can we now put to bed the "shite" talk & other silly criticisms just because he isn't banging in 3 goals per game, he is an integral team player.
