Not good enough...not sure how he’s getting away with it on here lol

Its a team game though, and he has contributed. 2 hatricks were stunning. Can only live off them so long.
He has to do better particularly when other strikers are dropped to bench after scoring a goal or two.

Midfielders scoring and particularly the attacking midfielders has taken heat off him. Ohare/ Walsh/Shipley/Westbrooke etc.

I doubt if all fit Robins will change his usual preferred starting formation initially which I’m certain will include Matty Godden as number one choice up top. Having said that I’m of the opinion Ryan Giles hasn’t been brought in to bench warm he seems to have the strengths I think we lack, pace, power a mean and accurate left peg. When he comes in we may then see a change of tact. I like Max and lately have seen a much better and productive Bakayoko. but along with Godden got to start hitting the back of net more often.

I’d be amazed if Godden doesn’t start anyway

I don’t expect rotation, recent evidence shows he doesn’t do that, everybody fit MR sticks to a winning team, what we might start seeing is earlier substitutions, Robins in the past had been a bit notoriously late with his subs. He has the ways and means and players to alter his game plan after an hour or so and stretch the oppositions tired legs and hopefully get games put to bed earlier and get away from these last minute dramas.

I expect rotation if players looked shattered, off the pace or un fit mate.Mccallum,Rose & Allen I feel will start Saturday at least possibly max.

Im afraid a players movement alone doesn't warrant a place on pitch. He has been useless since Tranmere. Max has scored goals more consistently than Matt when hes played, he puts himself about, wins free kicks, robs defenders high up the pitch. For all Goddens hard work, he isnt very productive. Unfortunatly you can't see past your early disliking to Max.

Biamou has been poor in the times he has played the lone striker role, Godden is better at it.

It’s the opposite I’m just coldly objective

In league games (this is a league game) Biamou has a lamentable scoring record. In fact in league one Godden has scored more in one game than Biamou in his career

He doesn’t create goals either. I think he’s got 5 credited assists in his whole league career

If Tuesday was a league game he wouldnt have scored.

I’m not being funny when I say this but I bet you refer to all other players not by their first name

He is a cult hero which transcends his ability

Those calling out Godden take into account since his back to back hat-tricks he will be tightly marked, leads his line and he works his cobs off. I like Biamou who has different attributes but never a prolific scorer imo and that what’s being demanded from Godden. As for Bakayoko he’s most annoying, an enigma in a way, potentially everything is there height, pace, physique, but as yet he’s not delivered anywhere near consistently enough, will he ever ? I watched him last season at top of table Barnsley give both their centre-halves a torrid time, next match nothing. Can we pair up ? of course but we would lose out elsewhere that works.

He's worked off the season's worth of offsides he picked up at Blackpool at least

Getting like Cody McDonald .
Disclaimer, this is an attempt at humour
I haven't a clue if he's any good or not.

The answer is Wingy he's still inconsistent and shows a lack of intuition that a goalscorer needs. Godden has been guilty of some poor misses but when fully fit I'd still want him leading the line with proper support

To me for the past 3 weeks it looks like godden hasn't been running freely. He looks restricted. Having said that he's a finisher and we need to give him chances.

Max has returned a better player and he should play a massive part of the season now. Baka seems to have been pumped up Tuesday, hopefully his goal and performance kick him on now
Godden probably needs a rest. He's been playing a lot of games for someone with a chronic groin niggle
The good news for Robins is the way Baka and Max played on Tuesday
I think Max had been seen as not doing enough when we don't have the ball which was certainly true in the past
If he can continue to work at that part of his game he will get more minutes

Offsides: can be annoying but when a centre-forward is playing on the shoulders of defenders getting caught off will happen and often, remember the off-side law has changed this season, a player is off-side nowadays if a foot arm or chin is off. Poor old Jimmy Hill would have no chance.

Shrewsbury away

Yes Biamou played as lone striker up untill 63 minutes. We were winning 1 nil. Played decent first 63 mins.

Godden comes on replacing Biamou, and we lose match 2-1.

(Godden didnt look great before his 2 hatricks)

Previous 3 matches vs Ipswich Biamou started as lone striker and scored 2 goals.

He came on for Biamou at Ipswich away and was continuously offside. Again we conceded.

I cant think of too many other times Biamou has started?

Not sure of what correlation or point hes trying to make.

Biamou has been poor in the times he has played the lone striker role, Godden is better at it.
The only games I see where he has started as the lone striker were: Ipswich home in the cup, a1-1 draw, Shrewsbury away, 2_1 defeat, he went off injured, Ipswich Cup replay won 2-1 he scored, and Bristol R. Cup replay, won 3-0 he scored 2.
I would think that it is hard to form a definite opinion on 4 game's (particularly as in some of them we ended up with 2 strikers on the pitch anyway). I didn't see Ipswich away, but apparently he played well. He was okay in the Ipswich home tie and excellent against Bristol. Shrewsbury was a poor team performance, particularly second half.
So in 4 games with Biamou starting as a lone striker we have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 and he has scored 3 goals.
I don't agree that Godden is now suddenly useless either. I just think some fans form opinions of players and despite the evidence on the pitch, will never change them.
