The Lib Dem’s only stand for a Britain that the Tories create for them...

ministerial positions > actually making the country better

I am for an open tolerant Britain even if that is not very „in“ at the moment. If they at least try, it’s better than an insular anti foreigner anti multilateral cooperation UK.

But they’d prop up a Tory govt in a heartbeat... not exactly an advert for an open tolerant Britain is it??

Not quite as embarrassing as those voting for the Brexit Party based purely on a pro-Brexit ticket. Oh, unless you are comfortable voting for a party happy to put candidates forward who believe in the rights of those wishing to download child porn.
Agree with you

They are more inclined to think it can’t be much worse when they’ve been shat on for 40 years...

She's consistently voted with the government and helped facilitate austerity yet this appointment is being lauded by the centrists in Labour.
Just split the party now and let these fuckers go and do whatever it is they do in their little Hampstead bubble.

Elected not appointed.
She voted for the government consistently when she was in the government. That's the way to works.

There are some exceptions; the Leader of The Opposition voted 428 times against the Labour government between 1997-2010, and with the vast majority of Conservative MPs (and against almost all his Labour colleagues) during the 2010-15 coalition on several occasions - including on Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures Bills (he voted with most Tories on three parts of this Bill's passage, on the length of transition period during which Control Orders remained in place, the transfer of resources during the switch from Control Orders to TPIMs and the relocation of Terrorist suspects) and the Protections of Freedoms Bill. All of these might have been tactical (voting with the Tories because he believe the legislation to be too right-wing, while they contend it's not right-wing enough) but this record makes it extremely hard to demand loyalty when you're suddenly in charge of the Whip.

Yes, fancy standing for an open tolerant Britain.. made you chuckle no doubt.

Ha ha ha she’s a grubby politician who’d side with Boris Johnson if he offered her Tory ministerial salary again - she voted more with the Tory whip than many on the Tory cabinet

You’ve failed to mention the hundreds of times he went against the whip to try and defend the poor, vulnerable, disabled, disenfranchised and those of minority faiths, sexuality and religion.

Imagine a Labour Party during the coalition that ABSTAINED on welfare sanctions and benefit cuts that would have contributed to the deaths of thousands of people.

I for one am glad he at least has some principles unlike Swinson.

I'm not sure I disagree with much of this but the myth of Saint Jeremy's principles and voting record is ridiculously overblown.

For example in 2003 he abstained in the vote that tried to keep Section 28 on the statute.
He was paid £10k+ by the media arm of a government that throws homosexuals off buildings for the crime of being gay.

Not a foregone conclusion. Anyway, more likely to be dealing with labour than the Tories.

Why would a leader whose more Tory than some tories side with labour?

Yes, fancy standing for an open tolerant Britain

They’re about as far from open and tolerant as you can get.

They’re an undemocratic bunch of shysters, now led by a scruffy looking 40 year old woman………………………………………..

Because Boris isn’t going to agree to a second referendum, there’s a will within both labour MP’s and party members to agree to a second referendum. Then again if Boris thought he could hold onto power in some way he might just agree to a second referendum.

Why are we still doing this, still playing dumb.

They haven't even delivered on the first vote yet, that's not democracy full stop
The only dumb is considering democracy something where people are not allowed to change their minds, and not allowed to voie once they have better knowledge of the facts.

The only dumb is wanting parliament to be sovereign, but not wanting parliament to be sovereign.

Actually, the most anti-democratic stuff around here are the lazy one-liners with zero substance behind them. They're the territory of the intellectually absent.

And as you well know, it's Rees-Mogg and co. that have stopped us leaving, so it appears the ERG are the most anti-democratic bunch of the lot.

In tribute to Boris I predict we will do a league 1 and FA cup double next season.

Any City fan questioning that and quoting playing budgets, tactical acumen of the manager, ability of the squad and decreased crowds due to being booted out of the Ricoh is just been negative, all we need is positive thinking!!

No I'm saying that the original vote must be implemented first... Then the country can look and see if the correct decision was made several years down the line... Much like a normal election.

We don't just throw tantrums and decide to fuck over 52% of the nation because of feelings

So... blame the ERG for stopping us leaving! They're the undemocratic ones!

Given the closeness of the vote a soft brexit would probably have been the best outcome, it takes us out of the union like 52% wanted but keeps some of the benefits like the 48% wanted. Instead we've ended up with hairline faction on both sides where some are standing with their backs to things they don't like and others happy to parade around in "bollocks to brexit" t-shirts when they should be doing some proper work to sort out the multitudes problems we have.

The country is a laughing stock.
