It is exactly the same, it just shows that the people who were foaming at the mouth (not all fans) shouting how they would never give those thieves / crooks a penny of their money again are slowly dwindling.

I'm hardly crying, just stating the obvious.

We sold out against Chelsea at the Ricoh. Likewise in the cup semi last year. If we pack sixfields for 2 games because of the promise of an Arsenal ticket, its not going to be thousands of turncoats - as I believe the vast majority of stay away City fans will still boycott sixfields.

No .... like those other games mentioned, it will be the glory hounds who want to see us in a big game, or see a top flight club, that will make up the majority of the crowd at sixfields. There will be a few obviously who will go "just this once" because they really want to see one of the current top sides in English football give us a hiding, but as it'll be years before we probably go to the Emeretts again, can't really blame them.

I'll be hoping there's still some on general sale at some point. In not, its no big issue to me. I'll find a stream where I can watch us get hammered in my armchair ... I prefer the league away games anyway, we have some chance of actually achieving something long term with them.

Read through the many other posts where I have put I hope loads do go to arsenal and have a good day out.

It is ok for people to have a pop at people who go to sixfields for giving money and supporting them, meanwhile stating they will never give them a penny yet as soon as a big game comes up they change. Of course people change their minds and can do what they want and again I hope they see a great game.

Not everybody who doesn't go to sixfields goes on about nopm, it's different reasons they don't go. Nopm stuff has gone quiet, with it being hammered in every thread.

Read the thread, im not lambasting anybody who goes to arsenal but don't let that stop you ;)

I thought you were waiting until after the game before stating people have changed their mind?

Yes because I can guarantee that people will, I'd bet a tenner for charity. You asked me to name them which I can't do until I know they have been?

I would imagine if we looked at NOPM threads from last summer then we would see how it has "evolved" to suit the circumstance. Hopefully now that NOPM has shown to be pretty useless people will stop lambasting fans from going to Sixfields. Live and let live, etc etc

Nick, I have read the thread hence me posting, your having a go at people who originally said NOPM and now are going to the Arsenal, calling them hypocrites. Is this the crux of it?

That's fine in principle but I would say firstly, where are these people you talk of? I haven't seen anyone saying their NOPM but now going Arsenal. But as you say "don't let that stop you"

And secondly even if such people exist, so what? It will have very little impact financially to SISU coffers for a one off game that most fans deserve having been treated so poorly by the club. Why would you and the usual suspect want to have a go at them over that?

My name would be number 1 on the list. I am so hardcore NOPM unless we get top prem team then I "froth at the mouth" ;)

The way I see it is, I'm not with the NOPM shit which has pretty much died, I just disagree with the move to northampton so won't go there but will go to the emirates

It is more aimed at the people who were quick to jump on people for going to games, buy shirts etc.

There is one in this thread alone who has said they are nopm but will go if they get tickets...

I'm not having a go at anybody, but it not having an impact financially could be said about a ticket for sixfields.

If people were hardcore nopm.and do go then fair play to them, hopefully they will lay off people who do go to sixfields as they also just want to see their team play

You believe NOPM to be useless? you my friend are rather dim then aren't you.

It hasn't proved to be anything. Your judging after six months? NOPM will have an effect on SISU thinking. It has to. They are a business and no business will survive without an income. Be it in 1 year, 5 years or 10 years, it will bring down SISU and they will be forced to sell or liquidate. Simple economics. To say its "Proved not to work" is preposterous after six months. This is the longest game of cat and mouse your likely to see.

EDIT: May I add, the only way it would prove to be useless is when the fans abandon it as a strategy because they feel its not yielding the instant result they would like. To me NOPM has not stopped, I still adhere to it, and I am sure I am in the growing minority but it is a principle to me rather than expecting to achieve any results through it as I believe the majority will give up before it could bear fruit.

Its not about the finances anymore. That has proved to be insignificant. It is just the fact we are playing in Northampton. Is it more acceptable to you if the 4 letters were changed from NOPM to KCIC. Because to me they mean the same thing, but if it keeps everyone happy I can oblige!

Even if people did say they were literally NOPM to the club, and then went to the arsenal game so what? Would it be more acceptable to you if someone bought a ticket for a hardcore NOPM fan? That way they haven't paid a penny?

People on THIS VERY THREAD said they would never go to sixfields but do. Who cares that they changed their mind?

And who still has a go at people who go to sixfields? I haven't seen anyone do that in a long time.

I think it is pretty obvious things would have been different had literally no home fans turned up to any game this season.

Come on that's a bit poor for you Tommy.

Not One Penny More has been pushed on here ad-nauseum since before the start of the season, and there has seemed to be little debate up until now what it means, cn't go changing the definitions just because it doesn't suit some people now that we have a big draw away in the FA Cup.

Those that have said that they won't go to Sixfields becuase it's not in Coventry but will support the club away regardless, fair enough, but those who have consistently said that those who do go to Sixfields are prolonging Sisu's reign at the club due to financially supporting them, but then want to go to Arsenal away to "support the team" are being more than a little hypocritical.

There will be some who won't go to Arsenal as they fully support NOPM, which is fair enough, consistency shown there, but lets not have people say that NOPM doesn't necessarily mean "Not One Penny More" when it suits.

I agree its the same as "I hate Sisu and blame them for large part of our problems" and then at every opportunity blame the other party with no mention of Sisu when it suits dont you think?

Very sensible post.

For me, the funniest post this season was a few days after the first "home" game when someone posted about how NOPM had failed because the next game was going to be in Northampton.

If people honestly believe that SISU are indifferent to attendances at Sixfields (and hence to revenues) then they are probably beyond rational debate anyway.

People on THIS VERY THREAD said they would never go to sixfields but do. Who cares that they changed their mind?

And who still has a go at people who go to sixfields? I haven't seen anyone do that in a long time.

Only last week, a thread entitled "2,800" sprawled pages of pages of illogical nonsense and bile about people going to Sixfields.

Its all I ever read when I come on here these days, I actually that kind of bickering would've died down by now.

I'm a huge believer in letting faceless names on the internet do what they want, go where they please and spend their free time as they will but surely you can see the funny side in the militancy of some fans on this board (if you think I'm going to trawl over old posts to find specific names and posts, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed) supporting NOPM (come on, we all remember the emotional rallying cries tugging at the very heart strings of this places readers) and then as soon as a plum tie comes up, its all "actually, yeah its just about not going to Sixfields after all)."

It amused me especially after some of the nonsense I've read and rebutted over the past 6 months with regards to the Sixfields move but as we all know, there is no one more fickle than a football fan so its hardly surprising.

Wonder if these same opinions and arguments were spouted when the Barnsley tie was announced? It should've been, who can turn down drinking in a leisure centre?

To the OP thanks Willie .Now Mr Pressley should see his superiors expedite the signings they promised him back @ that meeting he had in October,or supplement that undertaking with a decent striker to compensate for CW's absence.

After a great deal of thought I decided pre season to follow the NOPM campaign. So far I have been to 4 away league games however as Sisu receive a proportion of gate receipts from cup games Barnsley was a 'no' for me, the same as Arsenal will be. I know there are some on here who will agree with my stance, and some that will totally oppose my view. I am not looking for plaudits or brickbats, I'm just one supporter doing what he thinks is best for the long term future of our club.
To those that go to The Emirates, enjoy your day and let's all hope that we progress to the next round.

This is exactly what I mean! I got all the abuse in the world for wanting to take my little girl only last week as my £9 was contributing toward Sisu yet now we have a big day in London on the piss it's just a drop in the ocean and doesn't make a difference. To be clear, I would have no issue with people changing their stance on this if it weren't for that abuse and aggressive language some have used on this forum towards anyone who has either been to Sixfields, bought a shirt or said they hold ACL partly accountable for this mess.

No problem! I guess under the Football League Coventry City Embargo act 2013, we have room for 2 more? I guess we need a proven goalscorer to work off Leon and one other in fitting with Pressley's original plan.
