This would be true if we knew for sure that SISU would liquidate the club. But do we? Fisher may have floated the idea publicly, but there is every chance that was part of the public chess match with the council.

Machiavelli would have needed to start taking extra classes himself to work out what their master-plan truly is!

The other bloke Labovich told ACL they would do it. So we only have that to go on at the moment.

Strangely when I muted this would be used as a threatening tool a few weeks ago I was advised that legally the administration option would first apply.

That argument now seems oddly silent.

That comes with a rather large asterisk though - what if nobody is there to replace SISU?

Spot on Colonel.

Some posters seem to think that if you are worried about no one being there to take over, that makes you pro SISU. It also makes them ignorant of the fact that whislt someone like me detests SISU, I am also worried that there may be no one in the wings willing to invest in the club to keep it going......and I dont want to go down that road.

Good point. When did you say this? Do you think It was part if SISU's plan? Why did it backfire?

Problem is people have lost reality.

Sisu and a strange Robinson led consortium was all we had before. Now we have far less appeal and financial market forces have massively worsened.

People even claim they rather we play in non league depths if it means ownership change failing to see the irony is the ground will then rely be out if reach.

Armegeddon is about to happen.

Again, it is brinkmanship. Sadly it is the endgame now and a dangerous one at that. High risk for the people in the middle...the fans.

If there would even be a 1% chance of the club going bust then I'm not in favour of it. You have to think that surely SISU would have been begging anyone who would listen to take the club off their hands.

I don't think fans are burdened with risk (at least in terms of capital), which is why so many are prepared to call for risks to be taken. We see it at clubs up and down the country, with calls to 'break the bank' or whatever else.

And there is evidently a lot of wishful thinking that goes on, whether it's having the 'belief' that we can survive relegation/make the playoffs despite the statistics, or that another Markus Liebherr may show up despite the state of the club. There is actually a good, cool-headed discussion happening in this thread, but you only need to check out others on the forum to see it descend into mindless, tangental SISU-bashing.

In terms of outcome the fans will not lose money. But the emotional attachment will be the biggest loss if we fold. I don't think this will happen.
I think the break the bank mentality is not there now....Most City fans realise that we cannot survive by paying over inflated wages to mediocre people.

is this the same expert that was on this morning or is this another one? if it's a different bloke that's 2 'experts' now who have said they can't work out why ACL have done this and it's not going to end well.

They should get a few of the 'experts' from here on there, they are far more qualified.

What would any council have to gain from bankrupting the local football club?

And that my friend says everything anyone needs to know?

Apart from what would a company specialising in troubled business have to gain from liquidizing it if things are not going according to plan A.

Has anyone thought, even for one second, that ACL and CCC. are forcing Administration on SISU, and not Liquidation, because there might be investors who they want to take control, and to spite SISU, let them have the Ricoh, on "The cheap"

Very much agree with you, it's a risky move. But is sticking with owners who threaten to liquidate the club the 'playing safe' option? We can never really know which is the best option because these people are far too opaque. Are SISU making empty threats just for another media chess move? Do ACL have any interested parties likely to take over? Unless we have these answers, it's hart to know which road is the best one

If you make the assumption someone is waiting to take over then why are they waiting to make their offer after we go into administration. They are more interested in getting the club cheap than the club being successful.

It appears so, but I dont recall anyone making this point in the first few years.

I am not disagreeing with your point just looking at different possibilities.

As I said I dislike them as owners like everyone else, but at present once SISU have gone, who steps in? .....and if no one does then its Bezaer Homes Z division here we come.

Imo. investors will wait till after Admin(If they are football fans in the broard term) because (As you stated, will get the club cheaper) but will have more money to invest in the Stadium and team, therefore making the club more successful..just my opinion, but a valid one none the less.:)

It's about as likely as the other threat of moving to Hinckley.

So then surely you can see that having people in charge of our club who make remarks of that size, without there being any truth in it, are not fit to run the club?

Sorry Moff, but you are wrong. I have never wanted SISU to own CCFC from day 1. Owing to what they are and what they stand for.
So you don't recall the "Uproar when SISU bought then sold Dann and Fox." in a relatively short space of time?....Letting Westwood "Run down" his contract? Selling Gunnar, Jukebox, and Turner, the debacle with King,...Remortgaging "Ryton" after saying they were going to be investing £500k there, but didn't?....then start on selling everything including the "Tea Lady"?
Sorry Moff....I don't(Pardon the pun)buy it mate!
To put things "In a nutshell" The longer SISU own CCFC, the further down the leagues we are going to go. We need to cut out the Cancer...and do it now!

All very interesting and not surprisingly pro-ACL.

I thought one of the fans on there can't remember which one was doing OK until he said that someone like Gary Hoffman will come in and as he's a City fan then every decision he makes will be in the best interests of the Club. I doubt it. He ain't got the money. What he does will be in the best interests of his investors, I would imagine. Can't really see what difference it will make.

The other annoying point was when he was going on about undisclosed fees as if this only happened at CCFC since SISU came along, when in fact 95% of transfers are undisclosed.

Then the bloke who wants admin and then get some new owners in for a fresh start next season. Admittedly, sounds great, but are there investors hanging round on street corners waiting to buy a football club without any assets?

Finally, interesting that two separate football experts have criticized the ACL model.

Still, interesting stuff.

So what made you NOT want SISU from Day One? What made the alarm bells ring? Can I also make a prediction? I guarantee that whoever takes over will be the best thing to happen to this club in your eyes.

Even though it will be another hedge fund (though they will probably call themselves venture capitalists to fool SBK)

A French fonds spéculatif will take over, which will be great, makes a change from a bloody Hedge Fund, that's for sure.
