the match day experience

Football fans choose their games, they always have. Some weeks there used to be 10000 walk-ups. Other weeks it was just the die hard fans.

The Villa game in this cup warrants no additional interest without an incentive. Part with £40/£32 and it is even less attractive.

Add to that the fact that the club had been fairly busy taking our money off us and I can see why there will be 8000-10000 empty seats.

The Brighton game ruined any prospect of the crowd being bigger.
Yeah, especially when you can watch it on Sky. Still think you will get 27000 up there tonight as Villa have sold their allocation.

To be fair thou, people are pissed off before they get to their seat.

Last year: turn up half hour to go, scan card, get to bar, sink a £3.60 pint of Stella, have a piss, go to seat, WLIDITT, COME ON CITY, watch us piss the league.

This season...
Turn up half hour to go, find huge fucking queue for no reason, utter to your mate "it's like they forgot how to scan a qr code haha", get to front of queue, find your ticket has been archived for the 3rd time this week, find qr code as people behind you say to their mates "it's like they forgot how to scan a qr code haha", scan ticket, choose between watered down Carling or watered down Carling in a waistcoat, realise it's £5.80 and blow through teeth similar to a builder doing a quote, you need a piss but now it's 10 to go and pretty close. You rush in to the toilet do your business, run to seat, miss all the fireworks, but you know there has been some because the pitch is now covered in a sulpher ridden fog cloud, you go up stairs while WLIDITT is being sung, get to the seat you've had for years, some jobsworth wants to check you're in the right seat.
It's just such a fucking buzz kill

Here's an idea try getting in 45 minutes before the game starts.

Some people, others arrive 15 minutes after the start.

People have stuff on, kids football, work, clingy misses etc, my normal routine for a Saturday lunchtime kick off are an absolute ball ache, finish work at 11am, drive back from Birmingham, shower, get the old man to drop me off outside the Cherry Tree then walk the rest. I was lucky if I see kick off.

Like a ball and chain and bairns hanging off your ankles?
Eurythmics cica about 81!

Enjoyed the game massively,so not a major gripe. which bars in the concourse were open after the match? Walked around for a while before heading to dhillons instead. Did something change that we maybe missed? stewards didn't seem to know either.

I keep banging this drum, but every home match it just makes less sense that we sacked our long-term matchday team to replace them with... This. It's just utter dross and slop pre match, HT and post-match. What is the benefit of doing it like this?

I only just made kick off so missed anything pre match but I noticed at the final whistle was ...a bit flat afterwards? No music or anything? Was it always like this?

You've got to hand it to them. Its quite something to go from the pre and post match atmosphere we had last year to what we've got now.

And whoever is operating the scoreboard doesn't seem to know how it works. Keep fucking up the team line ups, displaying things in the wrong layout so half the image is off the screen and what was up with the goal icon being pretty much in the middle of the screen nowhere near anyone's name :ROFLMAO:

The only thing that's not a mess at the moment is the announcing so obviously they've advertised that role to get someone new in.

Nah the announcing is shit too tbh.

All the stuff around the AV/MCing has taken a huge step backwards this season.

What genius thought up the white on pink colour scheme last night too? The video stream is just distracting. Whole thing need redoing top to bottom.

@Sky Blue Pete is the fans forum still a thing? I know you had to reapply. If so would be good to get it fed back to the club that this new setup has gone down like a bowl of cold sick.

I swear it said Dasilva had a goal last night on the scoreboard at one point...
Maybe can't be helped, but the game being a few seconds slow on the big screen was also really distracting.

The word on the street is that everything other than the announcer is now managed remotely, which would explain a lot

Omg for the life of me I cannot figure out what the fucking POINT is of having the match happening right in front of our faces broadcast onto the scoreboard with a two second delay at the expense of the two XIs. It makes no fucking sense to me whatsoever

Thats just the 'live' tv pictures. It's always a few seconds behind.

This is what I thought when they didn't offer the existing staff matchday roles with the new production company. Then I thought they wouldn't possibly be stupid enough to be doing it all remotely and having people no doubt running multiple games from one location.

A word to Doug please, Sky Blue Pete, at the next meeting, so many people last night saying what shit pre game music.

Enjoy yourself after the games was great, but Ghost Town is awful

I much prefer ghost town to Turn the page by the streets who you would normally associate with Birmingham City.

Does anyone care about this shit? Surely it’s the atmosphere during the game that counts - not some bloke trying to kick a ball in the net at half time

I'd happily do away with it all, but if we are going to have it, it should at least attempt to build excitement rather than diminish it.

We used to have the songs of the popular chants played pre kick off which was decent I thought. Got the crowd going.

I felt weirdly flat just before WLADITT yesterday and I don't normally get that pre kick off. Quite the opposite in fact.

It was shite last year lads, there's a lot of revisionist history on here sometimes

Half time is purely transactional, I need refreshments, a piss and a good HT chat with my mates, that’s all.

No stupid Americanised HT gimmicks.
