Sack race

You don't necessarily have had to play at the top level to be a success at international level. Don't think the current Argentina manager even managed at club level but look at his record. Moanio and Wenger never played at the top level in fact I don't think Moanio was even a professional player ?

Who the hell's Moanio?

The Argentinian manager only got the gig because the Argentian FA were skint.

The whole blame game thing is random.

It was like how it was Dr Claire's fault when Robins was doing poorly.

I'm not saying sack Lampard at all but there's people saying "sack the people who look after the budget" when none of the big money players have really had a chance (apart from Rushworth).

Taiwo went in, instant improvement on Simms. Amenda is an improvement on Lati and Pinnock is an improvement on Kitching.

The question is, if the big money players never get to play, where's the issue?
It's quite a strange take to immediately judge Pinnock a success after a 5-0 home defeat where he played a part in one, possibly two, of the opposition's goals.

You don't but one thing doesn't work generally is a Foreign manager at International Level fails and players who’ve been English and managed the international team with no international experience haven’t proved an overwhelming success

Yes
The only thing that would change my mind is we kept losing game after game after game, in which case he would probably have to go to preserve his own sanity.
We’d have no chance with the first two. Personally, I think we’d end up with Rob Edwards.
No way under any circumstances do we want Rob Edwards..honestly you are taking the piss aren't you...

Too early to say. But being consistent. As I was with Robins when he went. If this goes on for 10 games it’s got to be cheerio.

And results wise that’s too late really. But would be mad to sack early.

Conclusion: Fuck knows

Yeah, that's why I said unless we are losing 5 nil every week. 🤪

Come hell or highwater - A promise or statement showing total commitment to a goal despite extreme trouble.

I think 5 nil every week qualifies as more than extreme trouble. 😂
Did Ipswich sack there manager no they stuck with him and he got them promoted again.

Heckingbottom hasn’t got sacked based on 6 losses from 7 though has he. If you think that you are deluded. You have to bolt on the whole of last season to this seasons form to see why he has been sacked.
Is he happier now he's out of it , haven't they sold the gems and getting replacement s is difficult that's what I picked up earlier in the season from her interviews?

Why would you sack a manager who was a hero less than a month ago, after 4 games, 2 of which were against the two best teams in the country. So much knee jerk reaction. Looking at it the season so far
Arsenal - We were completely outplayed.
Hull - We were the better team got sucker punched.
Man City - We were the better team in the second half, unlucky not to come away with a point.
Brighton - We were clearly in the game first half, 5 minute period in the second half killed it.
If we are still i the same boat after 10-12 games then maybe start to worry then, it will take time for the team to adjust to a new level and mistakes will be made initially (Ipswich - not their first season back, already had one season of premier spending and resources as a base; Hull - Playing a system that is working for them at the moment but no evidence it will last the season).

Its not beyond King to make the big calls others dont see or want to make. Just look at Robins. But I think the players are playing for Lampards job at Forest on Saturday.

I just dont know what is going on behind the scenes, but theres no chance, a team that looked as good as we did at times last season and ran away with the league, have just forgotten completely how to play football over the course of 3 months? We lack so much confidence. We look shot to pieces. Slow on the ball, slow off the ball, weak in tackles, last to every 2nd ball. I just dont get it. There's one thing losing more games than winning, its the PL, its a big step up, and we were all expecting it. But this is just something else. We dont even look like professional footballers atm, let alome PL ones. Ive seen zero fight from anyone. No commitment. No desire. What the fuck has happened behind the scenes? Because this isnt fucking normal.

Best post I’ve seen on here in a long time, it’s a complete and utter shambles

A lot of these players rely heavily on confidence and familiarity to perform.

The system has changed and the confidence has evaporated.

Would be a sad if Lampard leaves considering the last 18 months. 0% chance of us staying up but I think Lampard bounces back first time of asking after relegation.

With a change we could arguably give ourselves a small chance of survival, but if we still get relegated as would be likely then that person may not be suited to bringing us back at first attempt.

If we get relegated he will resign. He won’t be here for another Champ run,

Probable, would that be him done then as a manager as he won't get a premier League gig taking us down as one of the worst teams ever. Or perhaps he will go abroad?

Only a few months ago we were worried he might leave us for the England job.

How does confidence evaporate so quickly and easily though? Something is clearly wrong behind the scenes. Its not not normal how easily we've shrivelled.

Getting whipped by Arsenal then losing to fucking Hull will do that

Most teams will get whipped by Arsenal at the Emirates this season. If that is enough to destroy your confidence to this point, maybe you shouldn't be a fucking professional footballer?

Doug is a business man first and he will want to protect the brand and product. The question is how patient will he be? The King family looked very disheartened today.

I think losing to Hull probably did more damage but you need a good start in this league and we got handed the worst possible fixture.

West Ham top of the Championship. With better players last season - relegated. Most teams in the PL will be better than us. We have faced several of the better teams ( 4 of the 5 in Europe,) Yes we must do better, but we haven't imploded, we are just faced with much better teams than last season.

Sacking Lampard would only be to satisfy the mob. Literally will make no difference to our season. The players are the players. We’re a league maybe two behind the rest of the teams in the PL. No coach could make them stay up.

Maybe so but someone with a methodology and system to minimise the opposition threats and maximise the potential and attributes we have got would be a start.

Yes, I know its only 5 games, blah, blah but how anyone can see any reasons for optimism and thinks this is going to get better is beyond me.

Its not clear to me what our system of play is, and defensively out of possession and in transition we are shambolic. Sadly, FL looks bereft of ideas and already resigned to his/our fate.
