He’s on £100k a week at Spurs, apparently turned down Everton holding out for more money when Spurs wanted him to accept their offer.

It's bizarre to me that we have so much of that summer expenditure sat on the bench while last season's players demonstrate they're not at the level. These players were signed to be better than what we have, and frankly on today's evidence they can't be any worse.

If somehow we stayed up this season you attract an upgrade in players. I listened to Christian Purow talk on a blog about how when he was at Villa in 2020 they just stayed up the next season only signed 5 players but of a much better quality than previously..
