Was that the shock we needed?

No, you said we'd get four significant signings.

We didn't, we got:

Rushworth, Yirenkyi, Amenda, Tchaouna, Ghobo, Hamer, Pinnock, Awoniyi, Cherif.

Whether they are the good signings or not is a different matter, but they were all brought in to play a significant role in the squad, and for significant money.

Your statement that you reference above was demonstrated to be the nonsense that it initially appeared.
If you want to really stretch this one out I said we’d get 4-5 significant signings excluding Rushworth and Onyeka as they were part of last years squad. Hamer, Pinnock and Awoniyi are not that. You can work the rest out and see I was right

Pinnock and Awoniyi are clearly significant signings

Some of us have been saying all summer we were nowhere near it and you've been right there trying to lord it when you've been shown to know fuck and all

This is the result of a shite window, leading to the manager not trusting whats been brought in and all involved not being at the level
And here you are now. Never happier than being miserable because you no longer have any connections. I thought you’d flounced off anyway?

I think we have a squad good enough to stay up.

At the moment the manager isn't utilising it properly.

Based on what is it good enough to stay up in your opinion?

To wake our management team up.
You cant continue with a Championship team in the PL.
There's a reason Onyeka and Pinnock and Awoniyi weren't playing regularly in the PL, its because they were no longer considered good enough. Also MvE doesn't look the player he was without Sakamoto ahead of him. Grimes has gone backwards and Rudoni and EMC looks way out of their depth.

Our bench looked far more capable than our starting 11. And if we are going to give the opposition so much room in MF we may as well play 2 up front and bypass MF completely.
Agree with the observation about 2strikers.

I'm having a pop at you because you're one of the biggest arseholes on here. You were laying into the likes of me , sparks, quinn all summer like you were the Oracle.

Youve been shown up as the clueless spiv you are and still wont acknowledge you were wrong. Maybe if you did you'd get less heat

You can exclude Onyeka as that was essentially agreed last year, but not Rushworth.

And of course Hamer, Pinnock and Awoniyi are that. How are they not, when they are expected to play a significant role in the squad this year, and had over £20m spent on them? A non-significant signing would be Bentley.

You made a silly statement, and then tried to make reality fit with it rather than just accept your statement was nonsense.

Not so much of a wake up call as confirmation of my worst fears. I really thought today might be the day bit it just served to prove just how far away we are. As someone said previously it might just be the way its going to be. I didn't appreciate the jump tbf. Unless these new signings are world beaters its going to be a shocker of a year. Mind you then I get to enjoy the Championship again so every cloud

Let’s be honest, 8 of our team today started in the Championship last season. We’ve signed 2 players with decent PL experience and I’m not including Onyeka (whom we had an obligation to buy). The rest of our summer signings are young players, with potential. The potential to do well, if they do, then they’ll be sold for a decent profit, that’s the model.

Sadly at the moment, and I appreciate its very early days, these players aren’t getting the opportunity or the breaks. Interesting that Simms didn’t make the squad today, but he’ll probably start the next 3. Keep the faith. PUSB.

Haha. “Heat”. I’m afraid you’ve been shown up to be a little bit embittered and relentlessly negative as well as being an absolute blouse.

It was the reality check that the mid-table sides quality is far ahead of ours, every point is going to be scrapped for and earned.

Was a lot of over confidence that we would get three points today based on very little.

You can’t afford to play with ten men in this league, we don’t need players giving the opposition chance two go down holding their face

You need to keep 10 men on the field to have any chance

Man City just won the Manchester derby with 10 men for 70 minutes because their players look like they give a shit and their manager knows what he’s doing.

It doesn’t automatically mean you lose 5-0. Our team just isn’t good enough. Going from 2-0 to 5-0 is unacceptable.
