Championship Thread 26/27 (1 Viewer)

Wrexham spent a lot of money on very ordinary Championship players and Parkinson is being found out, he's not got what it takes to achieve at Championship level, way too one dimensional. For that reason, I hope he stays in the job for some time.

Roughly £75m spent over the past 3 windows alone and literally zero to show for it. The squad is incredibly average for that level of outlay.

Despite the poor start it's probably too soon to sack him and given his history at the club it would be a difficult to act quickly. But if they have any real aspirations of promotion they categorically need a much higher calibre of manager in.

They're in danger of having a very embarrassing season and the issue they have is, the longer they spend in that division, it quite quickly becomes a much less interesting project for sponsors / Disney + to be a part of.

Brum looking good, why couldn't they have gotten Millar a week earlier?!?!

Derby look terrible!

Shame Derby are total shite, but Vazquez for Birmingham with miss of the season.

Did they not take until the last game of the season to win the title - pipping West Ham to it!?!...... If I recall correctly!?!
I think it was Brighton they pipped tbh as it was the year we were stinking out the Prem (for the second half of the season at least) finishing on a measly 28 points.

When we got promoted the season before, it was Brighton we got a result against on the last day to send us up in 2nd (if they won, they'd have been 2nd) They came back even stronger the next season and went up easily (where they've stayed ever since), I think Newcastle were their only real rivals for the autos, who ended up beating them to the title.

West Ham and Wolves will easily get the 2 auto spots.
They'll probably be the two favourites for a reason.

One thing is for sure, if we somehow manage to succeed this year then we'll deserve it a whole lot more than we would if we had ended up scraping 2nd over Ipswich last time out.

I was actually at the WHU game on Saturday - ended up staying with a mate in London afterwards who is a West Ham fan and had a spare ticket for the match so was invited along

They looked pretty clueless, Nuno will be on borrowed time soon if he isn't already

They are all pretty peeved that they renewed their season tickets on the premise that David Sullivan was gone and there he was on Saturday sat in the directors box, obviously 'resigned' after the allegations come out but is still pulling the strings from behind

Highest attended fixture in Europe on Saturday which you cannot knock but be interesting to see how those gates hold up if they do not end up having it all their own way and they start playing Tuesday nights against Blackburn, Preston etc.
Alright mate?

Burnley 2-0 down at Swansea, think they will be looking to make a managerial change fairly soon if they don’t turn it around quickly.

I'm still confident that if Larin stays fit, Saints will get promoted (unfortunately)

Those posters who liked to gleefully highlight the Stoke results every week to prove that Robins is actually shit have gone very quiet last couple of weeks for some reason.

Stoke on a decent run , robins saved his job basically , good result today

Blows 75% of the starts in the championship he made with us out of the water?!

Thought Boro Norwich sounded a cracker but just watched the goals and the defending for arguably every single goal is completely monstrous 😆

Really good job we took our chance last season when all the so called dead certs took time to get going

There's a change to our style of play at times this season.

It's more like the Old Hellball against the weaker sides, but against those perceived as stronger I've noticed we just go to purely outgun? Midfield is all part of the attacking unit, which makes us more open with the space left in front of the back 4, so opposing teams find it easier to get through us to the defence (where I'd choose Phillips over Jones, but hey ho, at least Ayling has finally been benched) but makes it a lot more likely (along with new personal who know where the goal is) we'll score a good few at the same time.

A bit like Keegan's Newcastle now I think about it. They finished 2nd in the Prem THAT year, the same spot in the championship against the lot this season and I'd be over the moon.👍

Wrexham don’t seem to have much of a plan they just shell out on players who do a job but have no re sale value
