Why do we need an emergency keeper? We have 3? You dont need a space for any of the academy players either
 
So what is Bidwell doing then if he has not been registered and not moving on. Is he just around for the crack as a spare part ?

You have to have 8. We easily meet that.

That's the part I find bizarre. Surely this was communicated with him and he could have been paid up before the window shut. Realistically he can't play anywhere till Jan now.

More likely to join the coaching staff, but a good use either way.

In a way. He’s good to have around but he’s been a good servant so it wouldn’t surprise me if we terminate his contract and he’s free to join who he likes.

Bakker has played for some strong sides in his career, I wouldn’t say no but again he’s not played much football recently.

Malacia better as a pure LB but I think it’s LW or CM the club would have in mind

Can’t happen now anyway.

Maybe he didn’t get any offers that suited him and is happy to stick around for his presence in training and playing cup games. Lampard was very complimentary of what he brought to the squad away from matchdays last season.

For 5 seasons he racked up decent minutes for strong clubs in Ligue 1/Bundesliga/Serie A. If he’s actually fit it’s worth a contract I think, I can’t imagine he would have high wage demands.

Yeah it looks like he's fallen down the pecking order at Atalanta. There's two in front of him I think so makes sense he'd want to leave and like you said would be happy to rip up his contract if there were interested suitors still.

It would however cover two positions down the left at once, and if you get him fit you have a strong asset on your hands.

Sorry make that 21 games out of 22, including cup games.

Just find it bizarre that being classed as fit enough to be on the bench but never played. Even in games where his team were coasting at 3 nil up or random cup games against smaller opposition.

Understandable if he’s coming back from a serious injury?

He’s got over 100 apps across Bundesliga/Ligue 1/Serie A, better pedigree than 90% of the squad. And still only 26. If fit you'd think he would add something.

Not disputing the second part.

But surely as part of his recovery, if he is fit enough to be on the bench 22 times after that, he'd get minutes. It's just a weird situation.
