It does help me JSL.
I can’t remember what I had for breakfast never mind remembering the words.

It could be worse, we could support Arsenal and have to endure their turgid North London song. Absolute fucking shite. Christ.

How long have they been singing that shit?

That is cringeworthy, saying that so are Liverpool.

What annoys me is how on Sky they almost go quiet and "feature it" like it's a minute silent. I hope they don't do that with us.

They definitely will do it. It’ll be sentimental bollocks ago-go.
They’ll be the majestic champions and We’ll be the plucky, unfancied team from the unfashionable midlands…blah blah blah.

I hope Caleb beats the shit out of Declan Rice. And Amenda rips Havertz in two.

WLADITT is an appalling song from of the world’s worst bands. “The toilet smells of desperation” is a criminally bad lyric.

The pre-match playlist should consist of the first two Specials albums, Go For It City, Crash by The Primitives and that jazzy version of the Sky Blue Song. On a loop.

Hell, I’d even play Mould Old Dough and anything by King ahead of the fucking Enemy.

You should stop sitting on the fence

First verse and chorus should be played just before KO and leave it at that. Not the greatest song ever but it's ours.

Beats playing Sweet Disposition at FT mind.

They seemed to fuck up the timing of it yesterday. Don't think there was any delay to kicking off so they must have just started it at the wrong time which seems a pretty basic mistake. Plus doing the two chorus thing which isn't needed and just makes it fizzle out.

In fact the whole build up to kick off seemed a bit of a dud yesterday. Obviously the weather didn't help but it all seemed a bit flat with the music selections.

They've also ditched the local artists at half time which is a shame. Seemingly just a random generic playlist no and we don't even get kick it for a ticket and the player interview nobody can hear.

Scoreboard seems to have regressed as well. Hopefully just a first match thing but it was incredibly basic with no team lineups on there. Half the screen taken up with a video of the game but every time you looked up for a replay because something had happened it switched to a fucking advert!

Shit day all round really.

I made a post about this in the match thread, the company that now do it, did the exact same pre match at Arsenal. The pre game player songs was so much better and got the crowd going. Sanitised bollocks.

Agree the build up normally start 15 minutes before the game but for some reason it didn't happen yesterday and the music playlist 🤔 well considering the guy who makes the announcements, forget his name, is an ex DJ on local radio was a bit crap if you asked me.

And the scoreboard does it cost extra money to have the graphics in colour 🤔

When they moved to the company doing it now it did cross my mind that it would be centralised and all controlled remotely.

As much as I moaned about the AV last season yesterday was much worse. No pre game build up. Ghost Town and that weird car video not the right vibe at all. Loud shit music drowning out the fans. Half the screen on just the score and a clock with no team or cards/goals info. Just a huge downgrade TBH. Having a shit viewing position I quite liked the idea of having the live feed but anything interesting it seemed to cut to an advert.

Played the game with 10 players according to JD, completely missed Tchaouna when reading on the team. Might explain the result.

Made me laugh when they played that. It just felt like it summed it up.

Can imagine someone in an office in London googling songs about Coventry or bands from Coventry and not bothered to check what it was about.

Asked ChatGPT.

"what songs can i play pre match at a coventry fc game"

"Wow, what a great question! - before a Sky Blues match you could play....."

Missed having the line-ups on the screen during the game, especially in these days of 5 subs per team factored in with my advancing years.

I really liked the video montage they did a few seasons back with The XX playing over. Seemed a bit sterile yesterday.

And I’m a big Specials fan…but Ghost Town, amazing song as it iis, should not be played before a game!

I was looking forward to the pre-match buildup yesterday, especially being in there for 2 PM. There was really nothing, especially given the occasion of first game back in the Premier league for 25 years. I’m not a fan of the fireworks and the blue smoke stuff before kickoff, except those games at the end of last season when we’d already been promoted etc. Yesterday it looked a bit cocky and overconfident to me.

Love the fireworks, really missed the teams line up because i don't know the opposition players names , i just kept saying that there Number 6 is a good player . Missed the half time entertainment , & i wish they would mix the music up because the modern dance stuff is crap

Pre match music should be limited to something when the teams walk out, and the club’s anthem immediately before kick off.

Leave everything else to the fans to bounce off each other. I hate it at away games being drowned out by the sound system for 15 mins before kick off, genuinely think it kills the build up. And if there’s no atmosphere to kill, it just feels like a half empty nightclub used to feel on some random midweek night.

Also get rid of Radio 1 wannabe MCs and fireworks. It’s English football not the NFL.

I know I’m totally out of touch.

At least they didn't play that dreadful song with the lyrics about getting down to business (I think).
I hate the trumpet thing they play too, like the last post.
