The real problems will start once people realise they've been had by Reform.

Reform/Farage are very good at absolving themselves of blame.

Poor council performance will be blamed on having their hands tied because of the Labour government.

Then when they're in number 10 poor performance will be blamed on the ECHR.

There's always someone to blame.

This was always gonna happen. Racist or misguided or just fed up, it doesn't matter the reason but people are voting based on immigration and we all know it

And they will get more popular while the opposition pretend it's not a problem at all. Reform are being helped so much by opposition parties and left wing die hards its ironic

Sounds like Starmer

Labour getting what it deserves, this collapse was predictable a couple of years ago.

That said, it's a double edged sword for Reform

1. Local councils can do nothing about immigration which seems to be their main voting issue
2. They'll have to choose what local services to achieve their aims, it'll be an eye opener when they realise that councils aren't really just handing out pots of cash to special interest groups
3. Will we get the situation of reform councils blaming the Labour government for cuts to services?

They’ll just blame the previous councils. It’s all they know

And they'll vote for the same person who told them Brexit was the answer to immigration concerns....

Yup because they voted Brexit based on immigration too

So can focus on them being dumb or focus on the fact many people in this country don't like how the country is changing

One option isn't working out at the minute. Maybe they should try the other one? Probably too late to nip this movement in bud now though

it isn’t really immigration as we will see in wales and Scotland. No one wants Starmer and he needs to read the signs

Yes the main driver behind reform voters is immigration

Fair. Im just saying the argument, (well its not even an argument its a get out of jail free card by shouting racist) that everyone who votes reform is racist has been put to bed.

Unless we do actually have tens of millions of racists in this country. Which i highly doubt
No sorry They're voting for a populist party, like I say you'll get a mini Trump experience along with some of lizz Truss, wealth will be concentrated on a few oligarchs and that Will leave less of the pie for everyone else,a bit like now but on steroids, anyway it's a free choice.

Not sure with Farage being in the position he's in, that this claim has much credibility.
I'd say its the complete opposite tbf. Its only BECAUSE of the way the conversations around it have been shut down and denied for so long that Farage has got to the position hes managed to.

I do wonder if Farage really wanted these elections and their peak may be two years too early

Nowhere near a majority saddle but the highest number voted reform
You can bet that very few of the people that voted for reform are racist but you can also be certain that all racists voted for them
Because no Muslim, anti-jew voted for greens then no?

Fair, but then this thread is full of comments still blaming the Tories for everything two years into the Labour gov't. We can't have it both ways.

And look back long enough you have people blaming the tories failings for the previous labour government

Don't forget the feminists and the Trans who also populise their share of the vote, which is a weird flex, because they should really be polar opposites, but they were the ones to target that would never vote Reform. Basically two cheeks of the same arse.

The real problems will start once people realise they've been had by Reform.
Is there any difference to being had by Labour or the Tories.
Not really, people get deceived and get different to what they thought they were voting for.

All that proves is all sides are pretty much the same. You said "it's all they know". It's all anyone really knows because it's the easiest weapon to use.

And the Tories went on for years blaming the previous Labour government and plenty of people seemed to to think the global financial crash was caused by Gordon Brown.

Obviously...but if they're voting for Reform expecting their lives to majorly improve they're going to be very disappointed. If anything, those worse off will be impacted the most with them in charge.

Nobody is denying that. You can't use the argument 'yeah but the tories', without accepting it's what all parties do.

Isn't that the point of any vote? If you're not voting to where you believe will improve things then what's the point? I imagine most people in history are disappointed at some level that they didn't get what they believed they would.

If immigration is the issue reform will struggle to get any seats in Scotland

Irony in that yesterday he did the exact same yeah but argument!
Irony is that you brought that up but then used the argument today.

We can all play the receipts game.
