Statement signings if we go up? (9 Viewers)

We need players in it for the longhaul or with resale value. IF we go down, we need a stronger squad than we have now. Might need to Yoyo a few times to stick in the Prem.

Sell some of our lower ability players now and reinvest. Eventually we'll stick

Can see the following leaving. Think we get good money for Torp and Simms, can see Wolves being interested in Kitch.

Bidwell
Brau
Woolf or Kitch
Lati
Torp
Allen
Andrews
BTA
Simms
Rapha
Bassette
Id be keeping Andrews for certain, young and would make a fair bit of money from the academy. for me he needs to go to League 1 or lower champ next season on a loan. maybe somebody like Posh?

In terms of outgoings I can see
Collins (Released)
Woolfenden (1m-4m)
Latibeaudiere (1m-4m)
Bidwell (nominal fee)
Brau (loan)
Torp (7m-12m)
Andrews (loan)
Esse (Return to Palace)
Min-Hyeok (Return to Spurs)
Thomas-Asante (7m-12m)
Raphael (nominal fee)
Bassette (1m-2m)

Maybe:
Simms (10m-13m)
Rushworth (Return to Brighton)

I was getting confused with surnames thought it was the one who was sold or poached by Stoke and off our wage bill!🫣

I agree with most of that, but I’d be surprised if we get north of 7m for Torp and BTA. And Simms more likely £5m, in my opinion.

I hope Doug doesn’t spend more than £35m on transfers, unless extra comes from player sales.
Again you live in a fantasy world. We will need to spend way beyond that or we will indeed fail to stay up. We are lucky we don't have to spend over 200m as we have a very capable squad now, but it needs strengthening.

That’s a guaranteed relegation costing us tens of millions, why would you hope that?

Most of our squad is homegrown. I believe the rule is trained in England/Wales for 3 seasons before turning 21. It’s only club trained for UEFA competitions

Who isn’t then?

Milan, Onyeka, Saka, Wright, Dovin, Bassette, Raphael . Anyone else?

I think there is a bit of a loophole to the homegrown rule. If you sign a non-homegrown U21, they are just that, an U21. The definition is simply based on date of birth. It's currently anyone born on or after 01/01/2004. For next season it will be 01/01/2005.

So you could buy the best U21s that Belgium, Portugal, etc have to offer they can play as many games as they merit without falling foul of the rule.

If you time it right and sign them at 18, they'll be homegrown by the time they're 22 and a senior player.

So realistically we’ve got 6 non homegrown (Bassette and Raphael unlikely to be here) and can have 17 in the 25 man squad. I can’t see us signing more than 11 players in the summer so don’t think it’s a worry tbh.
