Just shows you that having a quality squad spurs those in possession of the shirt to higher standards. I feel a bit sorry for him though, thought he may have got some more starts when MVE was clearly struggling.

He’s clearly a good player who can’t get ahead of MVE and hampered by injuries this season. He’s also played some prem football with Villa. He has a part to play in the squad next season.

He has played 5 minutes for Villa in the premier league

I'd like to see Lamps try him as a partner to MVE. When MVE and Tats are playing well, they interchange all the time and I'd like to see the experiment. Nows a good time to try new things, would rather see that then give Esse another run out.

Could he be played as a right sided midfielder to protect MVE ? With him MVE and Saka tha is a very strong side of the pitch

Exactly my thoughts because in the Premier League you're gonna need players with pace and they both have abundants of pace.

He needs to get a good pre season behind him get some bulk on him and fight for his minutes. Every player in the squad has to fully focus on pushing to improve in every aspect. Its been the right move for him, just needs to keep pushing and be resilient, minutes will come.

He’s good player and is only lacking minutes but he’s got it tough up against Milan but we need strength in depth so keep keep keep

Whilst I agree, having MVE is a privilege and he's one of the greatest right backs we've ever had - watching him play is a pleasure.
Even though sometimes I wish he was a bit more chilled out, like Roland Nilsson.
