Wingback is the most demanding on the pitch. That is usually why they are subbed off. With today's benches you don't need to keep certain players on for 90 minutes. You rotate and use the squad. If that position is key to your tactics you need 4 decent wingbacks.
Yeah like I mentioned inzaghi is master of this

I understand MMM is saying. It's unlikely we keep both. But if we do it's not impossible to keep everyone happy in a winning side.

There is no rush for us to sell Milan. DK wants us to push for promotion and he needs to have 'a squad' of players capable of at least competing in the premier and taht means 2 or 3 bodies in each position, we also have the 7 youngsters we have given contract to. Everyone said when Dovin was in that Collins was going but FL said we need 3 keepers not 2. If we sell Milan we are back to square one, we need to keep both for competition.

Last season people said we need cover at right back, now we've got it, if we sell Milan Van we will be back to square one, I think MVE will stay for one more season and if we don't get promoted then they will sell.

Players have to win the shirt then and make themselves happy. Lampard has said you have to be ready to take your chance. Get your head down and work, don't come knocking moaning you are on the bench. Players, if they think they are good enough they have to back themselves.

KKH played 51 games last year, Milan played 48. They don’t need to be rotated every game they are both worth of being a comfortable first choice right back at this level, or higher.
And they could both play that many games this season.

Let's say we play 50 games next year. That's 4.500 minutes so 2.250 each, which is still a lot, especially if you want them to play at 100% all the time in such a demanding position. And there would likely be times where they play together, either one in front of the other or maybe one needing to fill in at LB.

I don't think you realise how fortunate we've been that MvE hasn't been injured much given the workload he's had over the past two season. It's how we wrecked Dabo.

I'll say again, it's not about one being first choice and one back up. Both would be a first choice with their workload managed so they give everything the entire time they're on the pitch.

Lets see what DK and FL say regards the signing and if they give any hints on what they see for the season a head on the right side.

In any case its a really good signing and hope its a good sign about the standard of player we are looking at.

Im pretty astounded people cant grasp it

MVE is a Prem ready player and give KKH 2 years development and he could become a better player imo.

KKH is already a better defender, even modest improvements in his attacking output and he becomes a top end RB in this league.

It’s shrewd business and at some point we need to sell 1-2 players for profit to continuously improve the squad.

With Fulham now locking Tete down on a new contract… what if we moved MVE up to RW and then have KKH at RWB. That could be a pretty impressive right side outlet.

Never gunna happen but we can dream can’t we?

Suits MVE’s attacking outlet and KKH’s defensive abilities

If I was KKH I'd want to know Milan was heading off in order to sign.

No point winning POTY at another championship club then spending a season as potentially second choice in the same league.

I assume Milan is expected to leave
Unless work has been going on in the background on a deal to move Milan on, the most they could promise KKH is that they expect Milan to be moving on.

Exactly. This was an important move for his career and coming off 2-3 seasons in the Championship and squad role would be a backwards step for him.

We need more goals from the wing, not less. MVE isn’t a RW.

What is the data on MvEs attacking outlet compared to our proper wingers ?

Generally quite impressive, without a doubt a top end attacking fullback in this league. Had a higher xA than Sakamoto and EMC. Low-ish cross success.

However, his dribbling stats are bad. 35.2% dribbling success rate is low for a RB and 27 times he’s been dispossessed is up there too.

KKH had more successful dribbles with a higher success rate but his ‘dispossessions’ were higher than MVE’s. That said, the dispossessions is more of a reflection of being a higher volume dribbler of the ball.

So nothing suggests they are going to play as a partnership
We need to accept that Milan is going

It’s fanciful thinking. MVE has been a top player for us but at 2 years left on his contract, it’s probably the right window to sell up because he will not sign a new contract unless we get promoted.

I’m pretty sure @Saddlebrains said something along the lines that if we sign KKH, MVE will be off when the initial link sprung up in the media. Correct me if I’m wrong though!
