Space travel! Dont get me wrong, I love space, the vastness and mystery. I love learning about it and the wonder of it all. I just find it all very needless though sometimes. And very hypocritical. At a time when half the country cant find a petrol pump with fuel in it, and the ones that can are paying extortionate prices, there's still governments sending rockets and satellites to space. Artemis 2 will have burnt more fuel in that one space launch, than this entire forum combined will use in their cars in their lifetime. Yet the same governments are still taxing the fuck out of us and using climate change as the reasoning. Sorry, but ive NEVER taken a rocket ship to space, I just have a 1.2L polo. Not quite on the same level really are we? But im sure im completely to blame for the ozone layer so ill happily pay double the tax on fuel and road tax! Whilst you all take private jets to the G7 meeting to discuss how to reach nett zero! Or private charters to the Maldives to talk about the Chagos Islands. Its all the hypocrisy around it that pisses me off!
