Have we signed him yet?

No.

Asked about any potential new signings, Lampard simply said 'we are aware that the market is open'.

One day left of the transfer window. SBT is currently on a knife edge. Win tomorrow and make a signing or two, we are ok. Lose and sign no one, then I will say a quiet prayer for Nick's servers and the staff at Mothercare who will need to work overtime restocking the nappies.

Rob Gurney and Lorna Bailey are expected to ask the questions but they must both inwardly sigh when they do knowing they might as well talk to the wall..... Both Lampard and Robins tow the company line really well.....

This week has shown all city fans that we should take the pressers with a pinch of salt re transfers.

Edwards told us last week nothing was going on, Lampard said nothing after the match Monday and we spent £4m on Markelo on Tuesday !

As much as we want them to tell us encouraging stuff it really doesn’t improve the clubs chances of securing our targets and I don’t blame them for keeping their cards close to their chest.

If he even just says we're close on one or two players and it doesn't happen, it's more trouble than its worth. If you keep saying nothing's happening then expectations are managed.

The window closes at 7 pm on Monday rather than the usual 11 pm.
It was the same in the summer wasn’t it?

But clubs can apply for an extension by submitting the relevant paperwork on time requesting an extension, ‘The deal sheet’. Basically the player and both clubs have to have agreed to the transfer in principle including the fee, but extra time can be granted to finalise some of the contract details and clauses. This is why some transfers are not announced until after the window has closed.

Eating fava beans every day at the moment. Great for protein and fibre, also terrific fart fuel.

This factual stuff, whilst useful, is getting in the way of all of the outrageous rumours.

Please stop now, it's not what I'm here for.
