That’s the spirit🩵
Most of us care deeply about our club. Of course we all want promotion, even more than when we lost out to Luton as we're better prepared in most ways now.I think a lot of people are like me in that we worry because we care deeply about our club and are desperate for us to get promotion.

Most of us care deeply about our club. Of course we all want promotion, even more than when we lost out to Luton as we're better prepared in most ways now.
But there's worrying and then there's looking at the facts. 25 games to go and other than Middlesbrough the other sides have a mountain to climb just to have a chance of getting near us. Ipswich have to average 0.52 more points than us per remaining game and Southampton have to average 0.68 points more than us per remaining game just to catch up with us on points. Then we also have the better GD. Win 2 lose 1 is 2 ppg. Ipswich would have to average 2.52 ppg and Southampton 2.68 ppg. We've been flying and are well below these targets.
If a side comes out of the pack and gets within 5 points of us and Middlesborough continue to keep within touching distance I might join in with twitchy arse moments. But until then I'm just going to enjoy the season. Our recent form has been our worst so far this season yet we're still at the top of the form table and above Ipswich and Southampton who I'm supposed to be worried about.
Sure, I guess the difference is we were in the chasing pack at Christmas rather than a clear distance ahead of it. We also could only add some free agents to strengthen the squad as opposed to being able to spend a fair bit.I don't disagree with what you say but you won't stop we worrying. I'm still haunted by that season under Mowbray when we collapsed after Christmas.
The xG tells a different story altogether. We should scored 2 goals minimum v PNE and Bristol City.We could easily lose 3/4 games on the bounce as we don't look as clinical up front or defensively as good.
They also lost to Millwall. They’ve had some good wins but haven’t really beaten anyone that good to be honest. On the other hand they lost to Norwich last week and have conceded 8 in their last 4.
I agree as long as you're not comparing Mowbray to LampardI don't disagree with what you say but you won't stop we worrying. I'm still haunted by that season under Mowbray when we collapsed after Christmas.
The BBC should have you on election night, with your own swingometer. No and the Top 4 was v much established between Leicester, Ipswich, Leeds plus Southampton and despite the bumps in the road for all those teams, that Top 3 was unchanged. Ipswich and Leicester had an impeccable 52 and 55 point tally after 22 games.
You can't underestimate just how far off the back most teams are at this stage of the season. For context, PNE in 3rd place are closer to Swansea (19th) than us at the top and would've been 6th on last years points tally.
This time last year, Sheff U were top with 47 points, followed by Leeds (42), Burnley (41) and Sunderland (40). It's only ourselves and Boro who have surpassed 40 points by 21 games and even Boro have so far overperformed the xG table quite significantly and my expectation is that they will slow down. The idea that Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich will all overturn a 13-17 point deficit with 25 games remaining is just not plausible.
That's a 5-6 game swing and that presumes they will win each and every game we slip up.

I know Adam. Lovely guy. Lifelong City fan, and former member of Cov Legion.waits AAdam Herczeg is the ref on Saturday. He officiated our 2 biggest victories of the season. Good omen if you believe in that type of thing.
Yeah maybe just on the edge of what i’d call “hitting one from outside the box” really. Mostly instinctual volleys from the edge of the area.
That 15/16 squad was made up of teenage loanees, not a squad of experience that has been together for 2/3 years.I don't disagree with what you say but you won't stop we worrying. I'm still haunted by that season under Mowbray when we collapsed after Christmas.
We also weren’t 12 points clear of 3rd by then. We could lose the next 4 and those teams still wouldn’t catch us.I don't disagree with what you say but you won't stop we worrying. I'm still haunted by that season under Mowbray when we collapsed after Christmas.
They were overhauled by two teams who hit 100 points. Not that I'm that worried, but the elephant in the room is that Sheffield United were top this time last year and they didn't make it.
Burnley didn't lose a match for the rest of the season, and Leeds only lost one. That is just so far out of the ordinary for this league. Not that I'm that worried, but the elephant in the room is that Sheffield United were top this time last year and they didn't make it.
Except....literally none of those were volleys.
Do you genuinely watch games?
First time shots then. Why are you being so agressive?
Just a usual day on here for him.First time shots then. Why are you being so agressive?
