Lets just bring this back to reality here.

Last 6 games you're saying we've played poor?

That has covered 2 home games, and 4 away games.

Average position of those 4 away opponents: 4th

Points returned from those away games: 1.75

If we maintain 1.75 points for the rest of the season we go up automatically.
Yes, we've been poor. Weve had good results with poor performances. Weve been behind at home 3 times in the last 8, including to a very poor Charlton, and 2 down to a poor WBA. We were pegged back from 2 up by boro. Thankfully their gaping miss from 5 yards and the fact they were pushing for a winner helped us get the win, but we weren't great even in a 4-2 win. For large parts of the game they were the better team. Weve kept 1 clean sheet in 9, against some very poor teams in Pompey, Charlton, WBA, and Watford.

For Southampton to catch us we would have to completely collapse.

If that happens its Middlesbrough and Millwall that are the main danger, not Southampton

Definitely but they'll give it a go. I think Southampton and Ipswich win a lot more points than us in the next 10 games.

I wouldn't be surprised if both go on a long winning run.

The thing is, both sides have squads that should be going on massive winnings runs.

Referees in this league are so consistently inconsistent and it gets worse each game. Wright desperately needs a goal but why is he always offside. We played well today on a very poor pitch but rubbish defending costs us again. We need a win Saturday to keep others at bay.

Against Middlesbrough we created far far more clear cut chances than them. They just had more possession. To say they were the better team for large parts of the game is mad.

We had nearly twice as many shots (20 shots, they had 11) and four times as many shots on target (we had 8 shots on target, they had 2). Ball retention doesn’t always win you games.

Middlesbrough was our best performance of the season by a distance.

So if you concede first you're poor?

Presumably that means if you score first, like we did tonight, that means you're good?

Saved by that Conway miss tbh.

It's a very good job he did ping it over the bar because they'd be a point clear now.

And Preston were saved by that Haji miss.

Why do we only focus on the misses that help us?

Im not totally sure on that, think we’ve had a few better, but considering it was against a top team away from home I thought we were good value for our goals and could have had more. Either way, it was a good performance where we played a little more on the counter and did it well.

The complacency that has developed in our fanbase is quite something.
Let's see what this team is made now theirs a bit of jepeordy on them, they'll either respond or buckle, I for one can see us blowing it from here.
