Also maybe from a drivers championship POV papaya rules is a high risk strategy? Red Bull's strategy team is way ahead of McClaren's?So is the main thing to take from this season is that max is an unbelievable driver ?
If Verstappen didn’t have that childish moment when he ran Russell off the track would he have won?

Piastri & Norris both had more faster laps than Max.Yes.
Won more races, more pole positions and fastest laps than any of the Mclaren drivers who were driving a rocket ship, whilst he was in a glorified tractor
Apologies, it was laps led, Max had more, you are right Mclaren had more fastest lapsPiastri & Norris both had more faster laps than Max.
McClaren "got away with it" as they stopped developing their 2025 car after the summer break and moved the resources to the 2026. Red Bull kept upgrading and even giving Max the extra new power unit to keep him happy - worried he might walk at one stage. But they've taken a big gamble for the 2026 season as they'll have less resources compared McClaren - an even bigger gamble as they'll be using a new power unit provider next year.
What 2025 also saw was the McClaren car performance had to compensate for inferior race strategy team - Vegas and Qatar for example just shouldn't be happening.
Again if McClaren weren't using papaya rules and had a clear number 1 driver (like Red Bull/Mercedes would do) that driver is probably winning the title with multiple races in hand.
I don't really follow F1 but I follow motogp where the point scoring goes down to 15th. Does anyone on here who follows F1 think that would be a better scoring system? I'm hoping now motogp & F1 are running by the same company that motogp doesn't use F1's scoring system.
You see, more pole positions, more races won, proves he wasn’t driving a tractor. Red Bull got Max’s car to be better and faster than the McLaren for the 2nd half of the season. The gap they caught up was amazing, even considering their extra development. As mentioned, when he was under pressure and rammed Russell off the track cost him the championship.Yes.

He is a very good driver of course, but it’s that flaw in his character that knocks him down for me. Same as Schumacher. His cheating won him championships, so he will never be one of the greatest for me.
That’s your opinion, and that’s fine. I just can’t view someone who purposely knocks other drivers off the track to win, as the goat. I could add that Lewis has always had competitive team members (ref max), if he hadn’t, he would have had even more titles.I could argue this till the cows come home haha, Schumacher is the GOAT for me. Yes he had dickhead moments but he won 2 championships in inferior machinery in 94 and 95. Took it to the last race in inferior cars in 97 and 98. And the numbers he racked up for wins etc are even more impressive than Hamilton when you see there were only 15 or 16 races a year in Schumis day compared to the 17 - 24 in Lewis's.
Also, bar 2009 Lewis was in race winning / championship winning cars from day one. Schumacher had 6 or 7 years in cars that were nowhere near quickest

fwiw, Stirling Moss is my goat, and he never won a world championship. When you considered what they were driving at the time compared to today, it was pure driving skill that kept them on the circuit. He competed in lots of other driving competitions too, and won. He also fell down 3 flights of a lift shaft and survived. No other driver has done that(Ive also met him, and what a nice guy)
Would love to see George in a championship fight.Apologies, it was laps led, Max had more, you are right Mclaren had more fastest laps
My moneys on George next year. Mercedes nail engine regs
Nah, not enough points for the winner.I don't really follow F1 but I follow motogp where the point scoring goes down to 15th.
