700 small boats?!700 arrived on Nov 6?
Why do I suspect they will cherry pick the 'tough on immigration' parts and ignore the parts around insuring greater integration that would require significant funding. The Home Secretary is set to announce a major shake-up of the immigration and asylum system later this month, the BBC has learned.
Shabana Mahmood will model some of her new measures on the Danish system - seen as one of the toughest in Europe.

More engineers and doctors arrested for grooming, this time in Bristol![]()
I'm sure there'll be a few along shortly to remind us that British people are cunts too. Yeah we know, so why import more with an even higher risk?Immigration is the issue that’ll sweep away the Tories and Labour. Serves them right, it was entirely avoidable.

Not sure it’s that easyImmigration is the issue that’ll sweep away the Tories and Labour. Serves them right, it was entirely avoidable.
@chiefdave spoke about the need for ‘integration’ without considering the willingness of some groups to ‘integrate’ and whether or not there are any cultural differences that may be irreconcilable.I'm sure there'll be a few along shortly to remind us that British people are cunts too. We're fucked!
It is Pete. Actually enforce the border and VISA conditions. The Tories and now Labour do not have the political will to fix the issue and this is why they are both facing extinction level events. Not sure it’s that easy
Without knowing the details of the situation Rob is describing. How many were confirmed as boat crossing migrants and how many were here legitimately out of curiosity? It is Pete. There was a whistleblower in the Telegraph last week who claimed she was warned when rejecting an Afghan’s asylum claim who was a sex offender (indecency/exposure).

We don't know if any were boat crossing. As has been said many times, the boats only account for around 4% of the problem. In this case being Somalian I guess that figure is higher, but whatever the representation and however they arrived, we can't continue to be ostrich's and ignore that we have really serious issue. This is happening now in gang related raping up and down the country in town after town, city after city and there is an undeniable predominant group almost every time. It has to be sorted or there will be more and more victims and they're the ones mostly forgotten whilst we all fight about whether someone should be here or not. It needs action and soon or there will be civil war the way it's heading.Without knowing the details of the situation Rob is describing. Civil war, christ. We don't know if any were boat crossing. As has been said many times, the boats only account for around 4% of the problem. It’s not just boat crossings.Without knowing the details of the situation Rob is describing. How many were confirmed as boat crossing migrants and how many were here legitimately out of curiosity?
So how do you solve it then. Deport all those that aren't willing to integrate? How do you suppose we judge if someone is willing or not to integrate? It’s not just boat crossings.
After the ‘relief’ that the Huntingdon train criminal was UK-born actually reveals something much deeper and potentially worse. Look at the major terrorist events on recent years; from 7/7, Lee Rigby, Arianna Grande concert to Axel Rudakubana… the majority of these perpetrators of terror are home-grown and educated in the UK away from the violence of their parents homelands.
Which poses v uncomfortable questions on integration.
That's the only part you've taken from a lengthy post?Civil war, christ.
So what is the solution then Rob, as a genuine question posted to MMB above. You say the issue isn't the boats, so how do you solve those who come here legally, and dont commit crimes before these ones that youve said in Bristol come out. That's the only part you've taken from a lengthy post?
Nothing about the victims or the perpetrators. Keep burying your head, then when it all explodes around you, you can sit typing on here and say 'well I never saw that coming'.
You saw the demonstrations in London no doubt, most were arguing about whether there was 100,000 or 3m and not addressing why they were there. It was largely peaceful, with each passing event that number of disenfranchised will grow. You laugh at civil war all you like, it can come in many forms and we saw the escalation in violence outside hotels 18 months ago, if you think the time since then has improved things or you think a Reform government or opposition won't whip things up even further, then you might want to look away.
There is a culture harboring these criminals and family is also a big part of the culture, if they know they are risking not only their own ability to stay, but also that of their family, then I'd like to think communities would very quickly discourage and reduce the frequency. I'd start with the grooming gangs and also their immediate families as a deterrent to others. So what is the solution then Rob, as a genuine question posted to MMB above. Theres this constant line that those that dont want to "integrate" should be gotten rid of. How do you judge if somebody is willing to integrate or not?
With respect Pete, this is drivel. Wherever data is collected, migrants from the Middle East and Africa are always overrepresented in crime statistics and welfare dependency. If it was it would have been done
We have a very right of centre media landscape looking to drive division which is as dangerous and unhelpful as global liberal opinion that we all have a shared humanity
Yes. What a stupid question, btw.So how do you solve it then. Deport all those that aren't willing to integrate? How do you suppose we judge if someone is willing or not to integrate?
So we set a precedent that any grooming gangs and their family members are deported? There is a culture harboring these criminals and family is also a big part of the culture, if they know they are risking not only their own ability to stay, but also that of their family, then I'd like to think communities would very quickly discourage and reduce the frequency. I'd tend to agree, but is it just immediate family? Cousins too? What about UK born offenders of Immigrants?
Oh we can all see what the crime statistics say, and I'm not going to argue with officially recorded data. Where I disagree with you is in using it to smear entire countries and people looking to move here from those places. I find that a very ugly thing to do that will lead to us refusing entry to people coming here to work hard and contribute to society.@chiefdave spoke about the need for ‘integration’ without considering the willingness of some groups to ‘integrate’ and whether or not there are any cultural differences that may be irreconcilable.
It’s the same naive thinking that lead us into disastrous conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The view was that democracy and liberalism was great and we could spread it ‘by the sword’. That isn’t the case.
Not all cultures share our values of cultural/religious tolerance, equality of protected characteristics and so on.
Any country that collects data on nationality in crime statistics show the same nationalities overrepresented again, and again. Well intentioned liberally-minded people just don’t want to confront this at all.
The irony in the doctors and engineers comment is that in my last few years of going to different hospitals and GP's the vast majority are from ethnic minority backgrounds.Oh we can all see what the crime statistics say, and I'm not going to argue with officially recorded data. @rob9872 sarcastically goes on about 'doctors and engineers' too. Putting it as respectfully as I can, why keep making that sarcastic point as though we don't have huge numbers of immigrants here in those and other professions where we don't have enough home grown labour or people prepared to do undesirable work on low wages?
I put it to you both that the vast majority of immigrants are law abiding people wanting to contribute to society. The numbers bear that out also. Stop smearing entire groups of people and we can have a balanced conversation on sustainable immigration.
Yep really difficult questionsIt’s not just boat crossings.

We just arent producing enough "British" Dr's to meet our demand.
Obviously this isnt to say we dont have an immigration problem, but there seems to be no balance.
The same posters went quiet on the train attack when it came out the hero in the situation was a migrant.
Home grown doctors are moving to other countries with better pay and conditions. If you want to provide those however you're 'hard left'.The irony in the doctors and engineers comment is that in my last few years of going to different hospitals and GP's the vast majority are from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Yes I would agree. Whats the solution without banning Muslims though? The elephant in the room is there are a large proportion of Pakistani Muslim men who are racist towards white girls and view them as white trash fit only for their sexual gratification. Most people are terrified to admit it.
