Kieran McKenna linked with Celtic

I know that they have been inconsistent this season but I do feel it is a matter of time before they click into gear... A good thing for us if Ipswich lost him?

Domestically yes but they usually play in Europe

Is it really that much of a draw for a prospective manager to feature in Europe now with either Celtic / Rangers?

Certainly for EL and CL the new format makes it considerably harder for them to qualify for the knockout stages - which they were struggling to do anyway.

that's still better than 75% of the teams in the Premier League

If anyone wants a laugh, or quite frankly have their mind blown, read this thread from Birmingham fans discussing whether they'll fill their 62,000 seater stadium.

Some funny comments include them having a 'similar' fan base to West Ham 😂.

They would fill it most Saturdays in the Championship🤔

It doesn't matter if they don't fill it because they can close the top tier and cover it with advertising. Or, give away fans 6000 tickets. 🫨

That they'll fill the stadium with Japanese tourists 🫠.

I'm sure there are millions of tourists visiting Birmingham each year to catch a glimpse of the Peaky Blinders

Imagine thinking that somebody would invest hundreds of billions in a stadium and then be unconcerned with the amount of people attending it, utter utter delusion.

Blues owners really need to remember the old saying “walk before you run”.

I don’t see the fanbase for that size of stadium especially without getting out of this division.

All this talk is just nonsense if they can’t get promoted and so far there record on the pitch under these lot is relegation after a awful management decision, promotion following the biggest budget in league one history and currently mid table after high spending.

The West Ham comparison doesn't add up.

West Ham have always had a huge catchment area and fan base spreading well out into Essex. They were getting near 35,000 a game prior to moving. Birmingham are selling out 28,000 regularly for the first time in years.

Birmingham and the surrounding areas is filled with Villa. Generations of Villa fans built over the decades where they've dwarfed Birmingham in success and stature.

West Ham also play in an Olympic stadium in one of the most visited cities in the world

They can't even strengthen their playing squad in January as they are at the limits FFP. Unless they offload some of their squad from last year who havnt left.

They will finish top half just about. Don't see anything special about any of their players.

My favourite one is from another thread, and I quote

"We all know the similarities between our recent journey as a club and that of Manchester City in the early 2000’s"

They have won League 1, currently sit in the bottom half of The Championship and even before their takeover, Man City had 8 domestic honours to their name and were a much bigger club than Birmingham will ever be

It's easy to be roped into the hype. Their fans certainly were. Half this forum thought they would walk into automatics.

Kyogo folks were salivating over too. Hasn't even scored a league goal yet.

I knew they would think having some Japanese/Korean players would make them a superpower on the Asian continent, i didn't need to see any of them saying it, i just knew that's what they would think. It's especially ridiculous as all those players are absolute shite. Imagine flying over from Tokyo to watch Kyogo shin one into the corner flag.

Sheikh Mansour and Tom Wagner, so many similarities.

They were getting 35,000 a week in the early 00s. Like West Ham, they had a big fan base but also grew slowly. The Etihad was only 47,000 when they first moved in. They even had empty seats for those early years.

Giving away a penalty will have knocked marks off him. The mix up in the first half may have as well.

So record minutes of clean sheets for the club doesn't count obviously. 🤔
