The last one was but usually it's full of tough tackles and great atmosphere. It's one of the few remaining games that reminds me of the good old days

Boca Vs river plate same. Always fun watching even if the teams not on top of their game.

This is why Serie A is probably my favourite league outside of England.
Some really old school teams and grounds, but most are financially ruined shadows of their former selves and have to live well within their means.
Makes it interesting.

Fair enough, big fan of the Bundesliga myself. Always seems to be fallen giants in the second or third tier with new teams coming into the top flight. Superb crowds too

Some of the grounds are like stepping back 30-40 years in time. There’s also a big difference between the EFL and the lower leagues - there’s a Serie C club down the road from me, which is like going to watch Rugby Town.

Yeah I saw an interesting documentary about how some grounds were built for Italy hosting the World Cup in the 90s, and have been pretty much untouched since.

Really want to get to some games at some point, tickets to the San Siro look quite cheap.

We went to watch Bologna a few years ago. The ground is really dated, but enjoyed the atmosphere and the small away following (Sampdoria) were more pyro than man.

We could have gone on to watch Napoli v Lazio, but thought better of it. Two batshit sets of fans in an…interesting city.

Napoli is very intense but a fantastic place.

You're better off avoiding the bigger clubs, IMO. I'd definitely suggest going to watch Palermo play...it's a lovely stadium. I went to the Sicilian derby years ago and it was insane.

I loved Naples when I went to watch England play Italy there in 2023 - Was warned it is a dangerous shithole and to stay in my hotel room when not at the game and I am glad I didn't listen

I suppose we did benefit from Neopolitans being the Scousers of Italy however with nearly all of the locals we met not being remotely interested that the National Team were playing, so I imagine it could be an intimidating place to watch your club side in Europe

I loved the San Siro and is worth a visit alone, but I was bloody disappointed with Milan as a place, thought it was very dull

Thanks, I'll add it to the list!
Venezia's ground looks brilliant as well, but never really fancied Venice

Primarily due to lack of funding, a depression and a lot of teams don't own their own stadiums (where have we heard that before...)
It was this video if you're interested -

It's a decent channel imo

They’re approaching Gerrard for the job now 🤣
He would have been sacked by them the season before if COVID hadn't ended the season early and it's a shame for him he won't be a) up against Neil Lennon and b) At a club so desperate to stop Celtic winning a 10th in a row they'll spend much, much, much more than they could afford just to do so.

He's been a unmitigated disaster everywhere since he left them. lovely

Go now as it looks like it might finnaly get demolished and replaced with a modern stadium by 2030

A shame for sure but at same time lack of modern stadia has really hurt the Italian teams so this is a case where you have to accept it to make forwards

I've been and it's amazing and I wanna go again soon

Hopefully my son is into football, I wanna do a 2 week Italian holiday in future where visit 4-5 stadiums to watch a game in serie a or b

He just isn’t very good at being a football manager. Maybe Rangers is his level
yep, he was good for one season because they spent a fortune to stop Celtic winning a 10th league in a row.

I support Rangers getting Gerrard back rather than going for a far better and more sensible option,
