This morning has been an interesting one for sure.

If it counts for anything I do believe this murder in the US should be talked about, just not in the way we have seen.

It was clearly a racist murder as well.
Nah it’s all good mate, you’ll get weirdos like @mmttww saying it’s all rage bait. Can guarantee he probably feels sorry for the murderer and will back CNN about what they were saying about him, probably thinks he’s mentally ill or something and deserves help

Could have just admitted you were wrong. Oh well.

I'll delete the image now.

You fucking stupid or something.

2 different people helped her when she was dead.

Who helped her when she got stabbed in the neck or tried to stop the attack. No one.

They all walked off.

Fuck sake.

You said no one helped her. I said two people did, because... they did. I didn't say it was any of the ones in your image.

This fucking place honestly.

You have a fucking cheek. Saying this place like you know what the fuck you are on about.

What good are they doing when she's already dead.

Isn't it better to try and save a life like actually before she's dead, if I must spell it out to you.
You seriously can't be that dumb.

Sorry I didn't realise you were there there to check her pulse.

The guy took his shirt off presumably to try and stem the bleeding.

Yes some people walked away, but at least two people tried to help her. End of.

Any comment on CNN defending and making excuses for the killer? The silence is deafening

It’s obvious that I’m arguing against the laws themselves.

It’s apparent that Duffer is happy for people to tweet ‘punch a fascist’ but not ‘punch a trans woman in the balls’. If you want to criminalise all violent speech, go ahead and do that. If you want to apply said rules only to people you disagree with, is just fundamentally wrong.
Agreed, think there's definitely a discussion to be had about where the line is and sentencing guidelines. Having said that sentencing is a complex thing and its pretty easy to just hold up one example and say its a mess but its probably not as easy as making one simple change.

CNN defending a murderer, an absolutely disgraceful tv channel. ‘This man was hurting’ trump should close that shite channel down and throw them in jail

Look forward to the sky blue talk saddos trying to defend him and CNN

Probably worth watching the whole piece and not the bit that's been clipped to evoke rage.

The debate was around the response to incidents like this on social media from people wishing to use them for political gain. That significant information is held back to present the version of events the person presenting them wishes. An example they gave was Charlie Kirk asserting that this was a racial attack and that it was not being reported on, despite being all over the media, because it was a black person murdering a white person and not the other way round despite there being no evidence the attack was racially motivated.

This was then a discussion around how the lack of mental health services, and / or lack of engagement with available services, have led to horrific incidents such as this. A quick google suggests CNN is far from the only place this link has been made in this instance.
Following the killing, local officials and the district attorney publicly discussed gaps in Mecklenburg County's mental health and justice systems, using the case as an example in debates over how courts handle defendants with serious mental illness.

the whole story is so sad, she would have been safer back in Ukraine. Life is so unfair

Nah, sorry. That's a very poor get out. There were multiple mainstream media outlets that weren't covering it until people exploded on it.

Whilst assuming it is nearly always a racist attack when it is the other way around, the notion that this wasn't is now also a ridiculous take. The bloke is literally on camera saying 'I got the white girl'. Reverse the races again and you wouldn't be having people deflecting, you would be having riots all over the place.

It drives people up the wall, because white on black attacks spark fuses and are made out to be the majority of racist attacks - they're hyperfocussed. The statistics clearly show black on white attacks are far far more common, however, but you almost wouldn't know it. There's nearly always totally different reactions. When it then happens you get reactions like this CNN clown, or the local council - so I can understand the outrage.

Which statistics are these out of interest?

I mean, they are everywhere to be honest. A good table can be found through The Bureau of Justice Statistics. Remember to take the population percentages into account as well. It makes for some pretty damning reading.

Table 14 here is useful: https://bjs.ojp.gov/content/pub/pdf/cv18.pdf

I can also wheel out many statistics on how the media reports interatrial crime differently as well, but at this point it is clear as day. It probably therefore makes a lot more sense to talk about why this is, and the harm that it is doing.
