you are clearly brainwashed. if kids getting raped, kidnapped doesn’t open your eyes to this. nothing will
You can claim asylum anywhere.so you’ve got one person saying you can just claim asylum anywhere which was lies
vast majority of illegal immigrants don’t come here via a visa because you don’t need one
they come by boats and then get houses in hotels
as for the black market. that’s why I don’t use any delivery company anymore
If you desire sure. Spain experiences double the amount of people arriving by small boats than us. Italy and Greece too. Hate to be the person who tells you this but this phenomenon of arriving by small boat’s is not exclusive to the UK.hate to be the person who tells you this
you come here without any documents you should be allowed to step foot on our soil
So with your thinking does that mean I can go Spain without a passport?

Well that's the best thing, why would you want to simplify your life to that extent anyway and become dependent on getting a food delivery for example that just drains your money for some crap they turn out while stealing all the jobs of our youngsters?so you’ve got one person saying you can just claim asylum anywhere which was lies

So it's globalised then,to help cater for the helpless young folk who barely do any cooking or shopping, get Uber to do it for you,as they keep reminding me.If you desire sure. Clearly not all of them as less than half the numbers arriving in Spain cross to the UK before you even begin to factor in the numbers arriving in Italy or Greece. For comparison Spain also processed about 100k more asylum applications last year than the UK did. I doubt you’ll ever get a definitive number simply by the nature of the situation but indicators clearly show that the majority landing by small boats in mainland Europe are not making a beeline for Calais to cross to the “promised land”.How many stay in Spain before moving to Calais to reach the promised land?

Simple answers to complex problems how hard can it be ehJust so I'm clear the proposal is that anyone who requests asylum that doesn't have a passport or visa is immediately removed from the country? Through what process and where to doesn't seem to have been mentioned. The only thing I can think of that comes close to allowing that is the Dublin Regulation but that no longer applies since we decided to leave the EU.
Has the been any indication of how we know that it is asylum seekers who have arrived with no documents that have been arrested in any / all of these cases or is that just an assumption?
Based on what exactly? Spain processed more than landed in 2024. Same is true for Italy and Greece for that matter. Granted they’re not the only countries that have boat landings in mainland Europe but we’re really only getting the dregs. Now do the unprocessed![]()
And how do you prove what country they came from? If they're on a small boat they could literally come from anywhere with a coastline and that country will undoubtedly dispute it.just in case you missed it
Do you want to discuss boring politics?
yes it is easy. You send them back to the last country they came from
If you come via illegal channels and have no documents then you get returned immediately

Left wing government update
Is landlordism a left wing positionLeft wing twitter update:
"A source close to the homelessness minister said it had been a fixed-term contract and that the house had been put up for sale while the tenants were there.
They said the tenants had been told they could stay on a rolling basis while the house was on the market, but they had chosen to go.
The i Paper said it had also been told the house was only re-listed as a rental because it had not sold."
How incredibly clickbaity from the i Paper. That's absolute shithouse stuff from them.
Is landlordism a left wing position
That's ok thenOh it's the fact she's a landlord that you're upset with, not the contents of the article?
I don't know much about her but I'm sure there's been people further left than her renting out properties.
That's ok then
Tired: Gaining power and changing the law in favour of renters
Inspired: making endless TikToks about how you hate landlords
Playing around the edges of landlordism, the third way
That's ok then
This lot won’t be anywhere near government after the next election. You, PVA and my Tory friend are the only people I’ve seen thinking they’re doing a good job.Not sure you get much more “round the edges” than never getting anywhere near government.

She clearly isn’t, but you have gone from saying ‘Starmer will do left wing stuff when he gets elected’ to ‘he’s front loading the bad stuff’ to well, whatever this is. He’s pissing away the chance of a generation in the name of self imposed deficit pinching, and managing to make Labour unpopular with just about every demographic.Im sure Zarah Sultana PM is just around the corner.

Blair did things that were transformative, for instance the minimum wage, huge investment in state education, the NHS also performed better than it did before or since.I think you’ll find I was saying “this government has passed actual legislation that actually gives renters more rights and that’s more important than whether one of their MPs is a landlord” but go off.
I’ll ask again, which government in your lifetime or before was more left wing in your opinion? We might not have had it raining free gumdrops but we’ve had investment on rail, energy, the NHS far above what we would have got. We’ve got planning reform to come if the environmental groups don’t fuck it that could seriously dent the housing crisis and get infrastructure built before everyone in this thread is in care.
It may not be enough for you, Blair wasn’t enough for a lot of people either. But I’d sure as hell take it over any of the alternatives. And doing nothing but shitting on the only left wing option we’ve got in a sea of proto-fascists doesn’t seem particularly progressive to me![]()

As I said, Starmer has managed to alienate every chunk of the electorate with an even bigger majority. It defies belief
Where was it announced about rail?Blair was a better politician. He’s was the best politician in about fifty years. He also privatised huge chunks of the state education system and the health service. And you know, Iraq.
There simply isn’t the cash from a boom like there was in the 90s and early 00s. The Tories left the country in the shitter in every possible way and just to stop us going over the edge we had to raise huge amounts of tax. That was done in a progressive way. Fiscal rules were changed to allow tens of billions of spending in investment each year. Rail is being nationalised. Renters are getting rights they never had for far more secure accommodation, actual plans are being made to tackle the biggest problems this country faces, wind power isn’t illegal any more.
Honestly if you look at all that and want Reform in because “it’s not enough” you’re a child and not a particularly left wing one at that.
It was in their manifesto. As rail franchises end they’re returning back to public ownership. The first 2 (I think it’s 2) happened earlier this year. Great British Railways is already happening.Where was it announced about rail?
