What would you do when someone is caught here illegally?
Community service until they've paid for their plane ticket home

Is the judge wrong?

The ruling said he’d be supervised for 3 years! You linked it! The judge has no powers to insist on extradition and there’s no agreement with Aghanistan and it would be the subject of huge challenges under ECHR regulations surely?

Im literally just asking your opinion. Why are you so afraid to give it?

I’ve also asked what evidence you’ve got that we are more generous or easier to work in than alternatives. You’re not forthcoming there either. The lmao emoji isn’t a substitute for thought I’m afraid.

I have given my opinion? It's more about the benefits, the ability to come into the country and work cash in hand, it's what the country can give them.

How many delivery people are working illegally while being housed, clothed and fed? That's before other industries like car washes etc. Double bonus.

If it was about the first language being English then whack an English test before they go to the hotel as a precursor.

I'm talking about this sort of thing specifically rather than other types of immigration, ie a nurse before somebody tries to spin that.

A secure facility for starters, not whacked in a house in the middle of a residential street or a 4 star hotel and free to do whatever while unvetted and in the country illegally.

Convert old army barracks and make them secure.

I don't know how many times this needs to be said, but there is no such thing as an illegal asylum seeker unless they have been denied and continue to stay. The problem long precedes the current government also. Do you at least accept that?
I've said many many times on here that both political parties are to blame, its almost as if they are the uni-party.
Maybe its time for a change?

The term illegal imigrant refers to an imigrant that has chosen to enter the country by illegal means, ie not at a legal port of entry, and without papers.
I think you'll find that most people are happy with that explanation, despite your more than obvious distain for the term.

In cases of a sentence of 4 years or more, the Home Office needs 'very compelling evidence' that someone shouldn't be deported. He'll be in for his sentence and deported afterwards, if he isn't you can have all the internet points you want.

Deported? Where's the deterrent? THEYVE RAPED A CHILD FFS!!!!

Public flogging in the street, hard labour with no privilege and then deported back to whichever hell hole they came from. Anyone who thinks differently is complicit. If their original country doesn't like it tough, their problem. If you argue for their rights then fek you too. Otherwise it will continue and next time, anyone who supports can explain to the parents, don't be surprised if they disagree!

I'm sure there will be NGOs who will represent and help them stay in the UK.

Again you’re focused on the language but the other elements, especially having strong commonwealth ties with Asian and African countries mean we are one of the most prominent countries in people’s minds and also somewhere they’re more likely to have family. I’m just trying to explain that well always be an attractive country to go to. Despite that we don’t have a share of refugees comparable to most countries because we’re pretty hard to get to and once you are here you don’t get much different to any other major EU country.

So I’m back to the question of if you allow any at all and if not what do you do with them once they’re in UK territory without a return agreement? Your choices are house them in camps/prisons, or drop them in the ocean to die as far as I can tell.

Fairly sure we do use old army barracks among other sites, hotels are overflow from that I think.

On arrival they’re logged, interviewed and checked against crime databases. What more checking realistically could be done before they’re moved into the country to wait for processing?

Pretty sure another thread you were laughing at ai generated responses for an argument?

So the only benefit of here over France is the language? So if that's the case why do so many seem to need translators?

It's amazing that people are so picky when they are fleeing for their lives 🙄

It's always the same people defending this shit. The title of the thread is regarding a poor girl that has had her life ruined, and instead we are playing mental gymnastics about the terminology and processes of asylum. This has all obviously gone too far now, and the majority of people in the UK have had enough.

The fact of the matter is that this country is too soft, and the people coming in are not the first people that should be given a roof over their head. They're in many cases coming from cultures that are not compatible with ours and have no respect for the place hosting them. We have now finally got through the point of denial that most of these 'refugees' are men, but it's 2 steps back because now the argument is that it is simply too dangerous to put women and children in dinghies. Given that these people are supposedly coming from war zones, the concept that the women and children are left behind there where it is safer is some of the most naive shit in this iteration of nonsense arguments. The language one is a another.

I actually know the police officer involved in this cover up personally, and he's a really good bloke. It's such a shame that the government and authorities have treated their citizens like such shit that it would boil up to the point where even the possibility of this getting out could cause a riot - but it isn't surprising at all.

We've let some extremely dangerous people into this country, in pretty alarming numbers. We are now seeing the consequences of it. In the action and reaction. I just despair when even one poster on here had his daughter experience some undesirable behaviour, and the penny still hasn't dropped.

I am so sad about the current situation, and for the future of the UK.

Are there commonwealth ties with Syria, Afghanistan (aside from the people flown over), Eritrea?

There are many many issues that politicians should be dealing with, but im afraid if you stop the pensioners winter fuel allowance, and cap child benefits, and try and roll out welfare reform in order to save £5billion pounds, while at the same time putting illegal immigrants in 4 star all inclusive hotel accommodation you deserve all the shit that comes your way.

And when our children get raped as a result of the piss poor policies implemented by consecutive governments we're entitled to be pissed off.

There is NO issue more important than protecting our children.
We as a society have only just decided it’s important

Leave the ECHR, accept asylum claims at overseas British embassies, any one found to enter the country illegally is automatically rejected for asylum on the basis they have broken the law by entering the country illegally. That's dingy smuggling gangs out of business overnight.
Where do you send the people back to?

I've seen one first hand that we were meant to stay at which was a golf resort. We got moved to another hotel but still went back in the daytime for golf.

It had been trashed. Was like a third world country.
Well that's ridiculous, and not sure investors/shareholders in hotel chain woukd be happy. Was that within last 12 months?

If they're asylum seekers, the claims should be refused and they should be deported.
Not in my book, a long prison sentence is best option, unless its guaranteed they get the same prison sentence as here as in country of origin. Otherwise surely it leaves kids in other countries at risk if they disappear into the night, and hopefully no one on here would disagree with that..... kids are kids where ever they live on the world.

Of course they will be happy. The government will pay for the refit after and they are making a fortune.

Why wouldn't they be?
Was that under Labour or Conservatives? The reputation and image of a 3-5 star hotel would never recover from that sort of use. If it happened then it will surely be incredibly rare for a 4-5* hotel to be used, but I'm not an expert and have no direct evidence either way to be fair.

The judge said he'd be deported after his sentence. Clever mishmashing of my original words, under the Refugee Convention to which we are a signatory, the route by which someone enters the country cannot be used to discriminate against their case.

The Home Office's guidance is also very clear on deportations at the end of a sentence, even if there is a probable risk to the individual being deported.

To be clear, over 30,000 failed asylum seekers have been deported since Labour came into office. It's clearly not an 'open door' policy.
Majority were Albanians and were already due for deportation after their sentences finished.
Please don’t make out sir kier is ‘smashing the gangs’.

Tbf as long as they didn't insist on proving it by making you take a bit of dicky up the chufta, then I'd list anything that it might help my case.

No, its a simple rule. Don't rape kids. Unfortunately that still seems too archaic for some of them.
Well obviously. That doesn't even need saying. Do that and you're out. Don't care if you'd be in danger at home, you forfeited that when you raped a child.

I'm talking more the low level social problems and integration that seem to be a problem. Just set up simple things regarding behaviour and conduct that any decent person would do. And as I've said I'd install a driving licence style points system where minor things like anti-social behaviour gets a few points but repeated offences will see your application denied. To appease the Reform people who seem obsessed even consider adding points if a certain level of English has not been achieved after a set time frame. Big stuff instant ban/deportation.
