New stadium (15 Viewers)

Unfortunately the CBS has had problems from day one such as its location, transport links and general ability to get there.

I've started to warm to the ground in recent seasons though, plus there's been some investment so perhaps this is simply a tactic by King? I'd love our own stadium nearer the city centre but unsure how feasible it is with that capacity mentioned.

The club has also been investing into the stadium.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for the club to leak tho to put pressure on Fraser?

Not really I mean a stadium isn’t being built in two years is it.

It’s the council and Gilbert stirring shite

I asked the journalist on here if he’d act like Gilbert has over the years with click bait shite and what a surprise - he refuses to answer
You’re hanging on my every word today!

Would I write an article about notorious lunatic William Storey claiming he wanted to buy the club if it was my job to cover Coventry City and he was giving me an interview? I don’t know, maybe? Is this supposed to be some kind of major scandal?

Personally I’m glad there are journalists covering our club at all.

Surely you wouldn't if it was clear he was a lunatic. The same as cwr rolling out the red carpet for dale Evans.

You would at least check.

I think its a tactical statement its a case of Frasier groups ability to run a stadium without a football club! my lad who is a graphic designer is saying that l lot of Frasiers advertizing is being removed and CBS are using it!!!
Its who blinks first if you ask me will King take on the whole stadium or will Ashley buy the Club???

Wouldn't that just mean that CBS are paying to advertise and it's better for frasers financially than their own?

I’m not here to personally defend every story that the BBC publish about us, but you’re right that stories should include proper context, of course.

As I say, for a comparatively niche beat like Coventry City Football Club, I’m glad that we get journalists covering us at all, and the bar for newsworthiness is probably pretty low. This article about the stadium today pretty clearly meets it.

I don't think Ashley has any interest in buying the club. The time to buy it was when he bought the stadium. He has no interest in owning a football. He is playing hardball over the need for a long stadium lease.

The football club is the major contributor to Fraser's bottom line at the CBS. This is a game of bluff but Doug as a responsible owner has to look beyond a lease deal. It would not be good business practice if he didn't explore all the options to maximise the potential now he has earned the good will of the fans. The ground could have been so much better but that's history that doesn't need digging up. The main stand has always looked like a bolt on that doesn't fit the rest of the ground. As long as the club stays within a couple of miles of the city who's bothered as long as it's a success. DK has to do what's best for the future of the club.

I'm not surprised Ashley doesn't want to own a football. Have you seen the size of him?

What a wonderful dream this would be , with 2 new bronze statues of Joy & Tim , adorned by 100’s of pigeons to formally greet you , between Golden Arches & further outside , the noise of thousands of cars trying to get out of the car parks …….

Been autisticly looking at this space now for a bit.

Assuming we couldn’t buy the park north of the arena and the houses above?

I think they’d also have to demolish the BPA to build it which I can’t imagine the rugby club would like

Just not enough land in that area for any serious consideration, its a big city but land for something like a 40k stadium would be hard to find. Doug is desperate for a deal or to buy the CBS.

Ashley will not be easy to deal with either way.

When we do finally get promoted we’ll fill the ground every week easily, and seeing as the CBS can’t be expanded then at some point we would need a bigger ground ?
