that's how football fans think. its not how the people who look at the finances think. you've got clubs at the top trying to reduce the number of season ticket holders so they can sell more tickets to day trippers on holiday at inflated prices ffs.

Maybe cheaper family tickets available to be fair.

Weird comparisons some people make. Somebody might make one trip to these attractions once every 5 years on average. If people are going to make a comparison with other leisure activities (it doesn't really work at all, but let's roll with it) it would be better to compare it to something people do on a semi regular basis, like a trip to the cinema which ranges from £8-£20.

We just can’t justify those prices. So I’m afraid Doug my old fruit it will be the odd match when it’s cheaper, friendlies , league and cup matches maybe.
We’re not paying £90 for a pair of tickets to watch our useless front men amble around !

Gonna get shot down for this but. - Why do people think King is fleecing fans and club here.. where do they think the money is going?... new 5 mil pound players fees and their wages need paying somehow. TV revenue and kit sales are only part of the revenue stream. The costs of running the club I would expect are rapidly going up, as any business or household knows. We made a loss last year and may do this year too even with increased prices.
What's the alternative.. players wages cap, buy cheaper players and sell our best assets, that didn't work before did it. Or maybe we could shut parts of the ground or employ people who are willing to work for less than the market rate.
The prices are crazy high I agree from someone who used to pay cash into the west end and go to gigs for a few quid. But hey, I would rather spend over £400 on a season ticket to see my club than buy an inflated Oasis ticket or go to the O2 any day.

Fuck em its a total nonsense, attitude changed from me for a while. The more we keep paying the more the greedy cunts will charge . They’re kicking a fucking football round a pitch FFS !
I had an ST last year, can’t do that this year. It wasn’t so painful….I suggest people try getting to a match for 12.30 and then watching some half hearted performance for £90 with the whole day probably costing £150 , nah Fuck off Doug !

I believe our policy of pricing is flawed, especially for the kids but Doug King has a duty to try and make the club both solvent and successful and the fans are backing him. I would wager the Birmingham and Leicester games would be sell outs at any price.

season tickets have pretty much always been good value. But not everyone can justify them and the difference between £19 a game on the ST and £45 for a single match is a kick in the chops for many.

Football tickets aren’t massively price elastic. Fans find the money when it’s good and when it’s bad you can’t give tickets away (as anyone with a spare season ticket in L1/2 can attest)

Kids tickets are mental. Not taking my kids to the odd game, where’s its 50/50 they’ll actually sit for 90 mins, for £50/60.

I think we should be careful what we wish for regarding season ticket sales as well. Because this proves that if we ever get to a point where we're comfortably selling out season tickets, and have an actual waiting list, Doug will go bloody mad with those prices as well. We'd be paying Sheffield Wednesday prices given half the chance.

Probably for the best that we seem to hit a season ticket sales wall just under the maximum.

Yes the prices are extortionate. But If the games are selling out then hes justified in putting the prices up, as some idiots will pay it.
If not, then maybe he will lower them in future.

Supply and demand,

We can hardly moan when he's put his own hand in his pocket and invested heavily.

Those who bought season tickets have got great value, those who dont want to pay the premium can always find free ways to stream the games.

Fair enough. But we won't be on an upward trajectory for ever.
Let's see how well the support holds up when we hit a few bumps in the road.
And ST pricing isn't an issue and don't think anyones complained about it.

Like most-can’t really defend the kids prices and £45 for second tier football is excessive.
But surprisingly nobody has mentioned that season tickets can be spread monthly if the one off hit is too much, making it affordable (to most). For those who are worried about reciprocating the prices for Cov fans travelling away (including myself), it’s simple, don’t pay it and stream it for £10 which works out a £5 each for an adult and concession.

Ive supported since being three years plus old. That was a long time ago and club has been an over significant part of my life as an assessment. Struggling to imagine a more genuine fan than me "although I say it myself".

No way would I be paying the pricing that has been listed for on match pricing for certain games.

I, like most, have an issue with the adult pricing, certainly for Cat A+ matches, but as many have said the real contention is with the pricing for kids.
Feels like the club is riding the wave of recent success and maximising revenue while demand is high.
Standard business practise maybe but this is shortsighted exploitation of the here and now with no thought of the long term health of the club.
Why am i a Cov fan? Because of one trip to Highfield Road in October 1979. Cov beat Everton 2-1 (Wallace brace) and that was me hooked.
Whitney was right, children are our future, and pricing should reflect that.
Doug has without any doubt overseen a transformation at City since he took over and I am grateful for that but this policy feels more like the actions of a transient owner who is maximising short term reward and risking the future health of the club.
We all share his ambition, we have been in the wilderness for too long, and it is a challenge to balance the risk and reward. I get that, but for me this policy has tipped too far in the wrong direction.

Can’t imagine the ticket prices would have been that high if we’d of only sold say 8000! Thing is for every person who’s saying ‘I ain’t paying that’ there’s prob 3 or 4 people who more than likely will.
