They were claiming on the BBC yesterday that the hot weather in July 2022 "caused 3000 excess deaths" in the UK. I think they were forgetting that we were still in the grip of the pandemic at that stage - i can't help thinking that may have been a causative link!

maybe they have something 2020 was a hot summer with excess deaths- maybe we needed suntan lotion and water instead of the vaccination

Kids wearing balaclava's everywhere now. Just come home and on my way back i Must have seen 3 seperate kids riding electric bikes wearing them.

Why is there not something banning kids from wearing them in public. They just look menacing.
I’ve been working in London this week, seen loads of that despite it being fucking boiling. They must be stinking!

Trying to book a driving test for my son, surely the government should be doing something to help reduce the queues left over after covid 🤔

I have noticed the weather app I use is consistantly predicting higher temperatures a few days ahead than is actually achieved. It said 2 days ago today would be 31°, yesterday it predicted 30° today it is saying the max temp. will be 28°. 😒

Of the ten hottest days in the UK since 1911, 7 have been since the turn of the century. It does get hotter here than it used to, it can't be denied.
Oh yes it can!

When I was a kid, the whole 7 week summer school holiday was hot every day. Well, that’s how I remember it anyway…

I'm not doubting it's getting hotter, what is debatable is the extent that the human involvement has had on that global warming.

For example, the earth was a lot hotter during the time of the dinosaurs than it is now, and since that time there have been cycles of warming and cooling, and even some ice ages. The earth's temperature appears to go in cycles, and we are still coming out of the last ice age, so warming to some extent is to be expected.

Scientists that have been measuring antarctic ice formations are saying that the ice field is now growing again, which would contradict what NASA has been telling us for years, although NASA is huridly trying to convince the world that this is only a temporary measure, which is laughable as every school child knows that ice doesn't form in warming waters.

Also Warwick uni did their own independant research on earth temperatures that completely contradicted the story peddled by main stream media, and suggested warming and cooling cycles over millions of years with graphs predicting future temperatures, the results were put on line at one point, if I can find them I'll link to them. It's interesting reading.

Tell me about it, my daughter's room is west facing, so the sun comes around and cooks it after about 5pm, it's been 30c+ in there before. I've tried drawing curtains but to no avail.

We’re in exactly the same position. I’ve put up blackout blinds attached to the window frames to try and stop the sunlight coming in but still allowing for airflow if the windows are left open a bit. Didn’t make a lot of difference, certainly not yesterday!

We've got one of those blackout blinds (the black ones with the suction things on?). I think it traps heat between the window and the blind making the room even warmer!

I reckon the only way to make an appreciable difference is to shade the window from outside, leaving a decent gap. Not very practical, I know, but it certainly helps when doing similar above a caravan or motorhome (when parked ☺️😉).
As you say, you're effectively adding a huge radiator to the wall.

Amazon delivery drivers who dash up the drive, don’t ring the bell, leave the package on the doorstep in full view of all passers-by - obviously too much trouble to leave it six feet away hidden behind the bins as instructed - photograph it and then dash off.

Feels like we’re a couple of posts from a section of the forum insisting the earth is flat

You can't deny the scaremongering over the weather though - as soon as it turns hot & sunny for a few days,(because, you know, summer),there's dire weather warnings all over the place virtually telling people they'll end up burning alive etc
Just let people enjoy the sun whilst it lasts ffs
