We didn't even "sell" it did we? I thought that went because we got paid out on some clauses

They always had the option to buy it out not us IIRC. They didn’t hit all the clauses.

I doubt Doug will react to this story on talk sport, no advantage for us, so no point in saying anything. As for Vik if we have already had all from money from his transfer then so be it, lets just see what Doug can give FL..

The sell on was 15%

Sporting paid us 2 million last summer to reduce this sell on to 10%

Talksport have got it wrong

They obviously have mis understood the payment made last year. Thinking that ends any add ons but we all know it’s been reduced to 10%.

Or BTA. We can see Bassette has all the trademarks for a top quality player worth 15-20m one day. That day isn’t now though. He needs to play this season….. somewhere
Players who will be worth £15 million one day typically know the offside rule by now

Rio doesn't think he's got it so that should add a few million on

Really shit article, talking about him predominantly being an ex Brighton player, as the BBC find it difficult to talk about anything but the Premier League and starting with the expert view, and I say that in the loosest terms, of Rio Ferdinand, who has seen him play three times.

Yes it’s Rio Ferdinand lol, but I do think the question of whether he can perform at a high level in the PL is a fair one. I’m not sure if the Portuguese SuperLiga is overall a higher quality than the Championship. His record in European competitions suggest he can rise to the occasion though, he seems to thrive on pressure.

I'm not sure Huckerby ever learnt it and he went for relatively big money at the time.

Disagree with this - we’d have got 15-20m for Huckerby in this day an age. He probably still doesn’t know the offside rule
Huckerby would be worth more than £15-20m in today's market, he was an established PL striker that, £15-20m would get a top championship striker. I was reading a BBC article about England's u21 squad that valued Nwaneri at £60+m and Harvey Elliot at £41m which both seem a bit high.

Nwaneri is probably one of the brighest prospects in the PL currently.

Darwin Nunez is probably the fairest comparison for how he’d get on.

It's fair to question how he'd get on over a prolonged season in the PRemier League... but on limited evidence you'd surely back him?

He was excellent vs Southampton in the cup for us when they were a Premier League team and He scored a hattrick against Man City in the Champions League.

Granted Arsenal made him look pretty ordinary, but they do that to a lot of top class strikers

Personally, I can understand why the ‘top’ sides are hesitant.

If you're including Arsenal, Man U and Spurs as top sides then I can't.
All 3 crying out for a striker and in my opinion he'd improve all 3 signicantly.
Why Arsenal never signed one last season is a mystery to me.

It wasn’t exactly the strongest Man City team tbf - they had a 19 year-old kid at CB playing his second ever game for the club

I think he would do very well to be honest he's an A+ level athlete and has a fantastic mentality. That's before we add that he's technically outstanding as well.

They really should be put right on that score before it becomes fact.
It's the media trying to reduce the take for whoever gets him.
