Gathering for Tommy / Discontent

Yes and the immigrants who don't contribute to society and dont pay their taxes and were not here we might all be better off

Same with British people who don't pay their taxes? I guess you forgot to write that bit.

have they copied and pasted as it doesn't look like it's about the riot?

[torchomatic]

Canada not shy about calling it terrorism. Their govt do seem to like to use an -ism,-ist or -phobe.

Best to be OTT, I guess when it comes to this kind of thing. Not all obviously, but there are a few cities outside London that are tourist destinations, which were affected. Liverpool for example. I notice a lot of the trouble in Liverpool last Saturday was by the Travelodge that my son and I were in back in May. It would be terrifying getting caught up in that if you were on holiday.

You were the one who mentioned immigrants not me, you really have to twist the plot don't you

Most of the ones not paying taxes are studying at our universities and paying higher fees to do so.

It would be terrifying to be at a pop concert in Manchester, terrifying being on holiday in Southport last week, Southend last week with machete gangs like a scene from mad max, having a meal during the London Bridge attacks, why don't you bring up instances like these.

[Earlsdon_Skyblue1]

She's a total waste of oxygen. I was going to post the second video when I saw your first one, but you beat me to it.

I don't think the recent protests have anything to do with students from other countries and would be stupid to think otherwise

[duffer]

Jesus Christ you don't half bang on . You're preaching what we all know. You could apply this to any group who pay taxes etc.

Although, of course, most groups who pay taxes aren't violently invited to fuck off back to where they came from.

(Always a bit awkward when it turns out they were born in the same town as you, of course.)

[Nick]

Standard immigration discussion, straight to doctors and nurses.

There's never ever going to be able to be a constructive discussion at any level.

[Brighton Sky Blue]

Most immigrants here who aren’t working (and tend to be net contributors to the economy) are students. Also stop with calling it protests, call them what they are: riots.

You think that's not part of it? I think you must be barking to think that. It's definitely a factor for at least a percentage of those protesting.
For a start, the annual net migration figure that gets quoted contains a very large number of overseas students and they are also very visible so they're definitely part of it.
There will be a lot of people om these marches for whom 1 immigrant is one too many.

[Nuskyblue]

Out of town retail parks being shut early and estate agents are being boarded up.

Maybe there is genuine evidence to suggest major rioting?

Evidence of concern, not of major riots.

Don't doubt that last bit but id guess it's not the case for the vast majority who have issues with parts of immigration.

[Nuskyblue]

I'm not trying to play it down but it seems like madness.

Some of the media are behaving like it's a zombie apocalypse.

I'm not doubting there will be a lot of cunts out, I just think zero tolerance after telling people to stay at home.

We love an excuse to knock of early, the mere hint of snow and places shut down and fuck off.

We are very risk adverse as a whole.

If your workplace had even an outside chance of being vandalised you’d board it up.

[Nuskyblue]

Nope, it's Toy Story 2.

I thought Woody said it

No Action! Got some of the culprits in jail ultra quick as a deterrent. Would that have have happened under the previous government?

People like her have done as much damage as any to race relations over the years.. she's a wanker

Depends how much money you're expecting to take staying open

Less about profit I think than the cost of repairs and the impact on staff.

Trust me, not everyone's thinking like that.
Though that is the sensible approach.

pretty much, throw in the lost revenue as you can't open for a few days at least afterwards

Handy guide:

Protest: Gather. Wave flags or placards. Sing or shout. Face masks not generally required. Doesn't involve burning down hotels, attacking police, threatening places of worship, looting Greggs.

[wingy]

Don't doubt that last bit but id guess it's not the case for the vast majority who have issues with parts of immigration.

I think if you look at it ecomically, you'd assume it's a winner in the narrowist sense, but then if you considered it more widely you'd be left with a question over the pressure on everything from medical, education, housing, government services etç, set against the continual desire for growth, government ideology/,policy!
It's a confused country at the moment for many reasons not least the after effects of COVID, Brexit,a war in Europe, and possibly a toxic influence through SM ,ferral youth, not all by any means as like you'r daughter and now my grandchildren have been raised to achieve!

[torchomatic]

I thought Woody said it

He did. I said earlier on, I was right with the film but it was Woody not Jessie.

[torchomatic]

I don't think so. Not according to Sky anyway.

Got to deport all these white British criminals wrecking our streets and damaging local businesses…

[Nick]

Just been in Bedworth, everybody going about their business as normal.

A few protests against dentists though.

We can all bring up crime statistics mate , if you really want to

Some will be clueless on what you are on about mate, totally turned a blind eye.

Not George Galloway or Hamsa then. Thats revealing.

As you should have fathomed I was talking about the whipping up of hatred and misinformation regarding the alleged justification of the riots as 'immigration' .

Galloway is a whole different kettle of fish on his own and is stark raving mad - not many in UK take any notice of him.

Not sure what you mean on final name of Hamsa? Hamas or Hamza? Not sure what they have got to do directly with this thread/conversation on 'Gathering for SYL / Discontent '. They need own threads on radical extremist threads as dangerous in different ways.
