agree with this 👍🏼 I also think clubs should be punished harsher for things like this - having a ten point deduction for example, and ensuring they are relegated in this case, will make far more of an example of these pricks than a slap on the wrist and a stadium ban
I don't think its the clubs fault that these shitheads attend, just imagine some coke sniffing moron fancied getting some opposing club a deduction of points so decide to sit in the opposing end just for this reason!

Its pretty sad that after a hard fought win the last 5 or 6 pages are mostly all about some fucking morons actions of racism instead of how we dug in ....dark ages are once again upon us

Was a hostile atmosphere yesterday, me and my brother were in the lower tier down the left and their ‘youth’ spend the second half chucking presumably anything they could find in their pockets at us, coins lighters etc.

Combined with the shite Kasey had to put up with they can go down for all I care

Certainly hostile. Too hostile.

Most probably why although they are so low down the table but before the game they were on a home run of 5 wins 1 draw no defeats. I don't mind hostile games. It adds an edge to games. But yesterday went well past enjoyable hostility. I hope I never see anything like it ever again at a football game.

Not its not, its based on my experiences of them so nothing to do with social media you clown.
As you live in Sheffield you'll have had more interaction with them than me, but as I said, based on my experience.
And exactly how extensive is your experience then ? Frequent interaction? I doubt it very much

I never said it was extensive did I?
But in my experience, match going and meeting them on holiday etc, they've had a fair amount of tossers.
Its not based on social media.
Though they've not done themselves a lot of favours on that front in the last 24 hours.

Sheffield Wednesday used to have great supporters. Had a drink with them several times over the years. Never had the slightest problem.

But these days? I'm actually shocked how downhill they have gone. Before you tell me it isn't all of them I do know that. But as we have just witnessed it isn't just a few of them. A few hundred at least. Even the person who runs their podcast many of them subscribe to joined in. The idiot who did the undefendable has been defended. One of their own has said he has been at it for years. Why has nobody said anything? If it was one of ours I wouldn't be able to ignore it.

Yes they have many thousands of decent supporters. But anyone who tries to defend them are nearly as bad as the person themself.

The main issue is ensuring that those responsible are punished appropriately , I agree totally. Personally I think that the problem in Sheffield is no bigger than any other area.

When was the last time you saw anything as remotely as bad as yesterday at our ground? Yes it used to happen but that was many years ago. Most football clubs have sorted out most of the problems. But Wednesday have gone from being amongst the best to being bottom of the pile in just a few years.

It would be more forgivable of a club if it was a one off and everybody else condemned his actions. But it wasn't a one off and he got defended by countless of others.

Maybe none of the Sheffield Wednesday supporters live in Sheffield 🤔

Agree I can't remember seeing anything that bad for many a year.

Was in a packed bar yesterday full of Wednesday fans
Talked to quite a few of them and they were nothing but decent , in fact they were all complimentary about us and our team
Obviously its a tiny segment of their support but that's how personal experiences are formed

I don't believe they are opening that stand on Friday so their lot who just wanted to bait our fans for 90 mins have presumably been uprooted from their seats

They were very strong at home last season too, don’t think they lost a game. Especially given that they’re mid table over the last 12 games this was a tough fixture. Pity we have to go back again on Friday really

Taking the disgraceful incident aside, (find them, ban then and make a statement and then sing the Kasey Palmer song non stop for 90 minutes on Friday - MR has to play him now, whatever his plans may have been.....) I didn't think it was particularly hostile. I was in the lower tier in the left hand corner, just the usual banter between the supporters, Yes a few plastic bottles were thrown at the end, but hardly a threat to world civilisation is it?

Very cramped in that corner though, the seats probably have half the room compared to the CBS, they would do far better to change the lower tier to safe standing, but that will never happen there for obvious reasons. Always find it odd that we are standing on the same concrete steps where the tragedy occurred, you would have thought that they would have tried to make it into a single tier stand or just rebuilt it following 1989, the whole end still feels a bit eerie. Love the ground in general though, big corrugated iron stands as you walk up, narrow police lined streets as you come out with chip shops and pubs on them.

Palmer over distracted by their fans when retrieving the ball. Bit odd.

This incident was about 10 minutes into the second half. Subsequent reading on here would suggest this is likely when the young scumbag with his waste of space Dad started having a go.

If you read their forum the get him off the pitch chant was before they realised what was going on. I don't buy this all of them are racist rhetoric.
If this situation wasn’t so horrendous, this excuse would be absolutely laughable. All other evidence points to that not being the case at all.

First game back at the CBS, I’d expect several renditions of the Palmer song to show our support.

Chucking anything is a bit shitty, if you want to cause some harm go and have a barney with the stone island brigade outside after the match

Sunderland fans absolutely flogged us for doing the same

We were 5 wins 1 draw out of last 6 away from home. They were 5 wins 1 draw last 6 at home. But we knew we had the quality to win. It's never easy to win away though especially when the other side has well over 20,000 supporters backing them.

Really interesting comparison between how our fans reacted when that L*ster knob kicked the ball at our fans and yesterday.

Not one of our fans used a racist slur or gesture when having a go at him because he was ‘winding us up’.

Yeah, you would’ve thought if anything like that was ever going to happen at the cbs, it would’ve been when the Leicester lad booted the ball at the crowd.

After reading the comments from social media it sounds like stuff was probably being shouted at Palmer from earlier in the game. Maybe I’m being naive (hopefully not) but I’d like to think that sort of shit would be self policed at the CBS. Unfortunately it feels like, although it was probably a small minority at Hillsborough, it was accepted or at worst deemed acceptable. The number of justifications since appear to confirm that. Pathetic really

based on what though? you’re having a go at others because you think you know best and they don’t live in Sheffield, so what evidence are you using different to those you’ve shot down on here?

Even on their own forum they have fans admitting they’ve had a problem with it for a long time and haven’t dealt with it…. I can’t recall seeing a similar issue in all the years I’ve supported Coventry

Other than the fact it’s the club’s responsibility to police the situation and prevent things like this happening though, as another example if that lad had got on the pitch, and say he’d brought a weapon in, who would be responsible then?

It’s not the club’s ‘fault’ as such though, but even so they should still be punished, at the very least to make an example of these scum but also to give a strong message it will not be tolerated at football matches - any racist behaviour and you run the risk of costing your football club points / relegation and incurring the wrath of their supporters too.

You would’ve thought the threat of being arrested and locked up would be enough, but it seems that’s no deterrent for some people…

Wednesday fans who attend regularly know who this moron is, they have said as much on social media and on their own forum. They know he's got form for racism. So why is he still allowed in the ground?

It's not enough now to not be racist, you've got to be actively anti-racist, calling it out wherever you see it, refusing to tolerate it no matter how small and educating where you see ignorance.

Anyone that says they never hear it either never leaves the house or is lying.

In fact you don’t even need to leave the house. It’s infuriating. Kept off this sort of talk for over a year now on here but there’s been a fair amount of it lately, in off topic and on the main forum, and it’s creeping up month by month. Hard work staying silent.

A lot of names conspicuous by their silence as well.
I hear it down the pub all the time. I don’t hear it at work as office is very close knit and diverse but have heard it at previous work places. I don’t know how we as a society can stop it. We can’t even blame it on a lack of education anymore

Because " you think you know best"?
Rubbish. Like everyone else it's just my opinion .
