I honestly think some of the conversation following the Blackburn game, a game we won, is some of the most batshit I've read all season. Posters losing the plot left, right and centre.

I don’t know I think it’s been quite civil on here tonight? Had some decent debates for once with people respecting each other’s view points and making fair arguments for either side. Feels like some sort of Eton school debate 😂
I’ve got this urge to jump in a big orderly queue for no reason 😂

I never played locally , I played in the forces , regiment , core and army.. a very good standard at army level

I don't think my opinion matters more , but I appreciate how good a striker he is as I played as a striker .. it's really a simple thing to understand
Godden has stepped up evo, deserves praise

Not sure about this. There’s one square peg/weak link whatever you do.

Wilson
Thomas Fadz Binks
Saka Lats Eccles Dasilva
Allen
Simms Wright

S: Collins, Kitching, Bidwell, Ayari, Godden, selection of children
This will mean that Lats will have played in three different positions already in his Coventry career.

Yeah fair point, we get the odd chance here and there and I suppose it’s not to be sniffed at. As an overarching theme though I think we lack a clear direction or play style, I realise it’s nit-picky and we’re getting wins so fair enough but I just think from the pressing, to the midfield, to the way our strikers set up it just feels a little bit messy and a bit “squeaky bum time” every week.
It feels like we don’t play in a particular way, but I agree that that’s probably a settling-in and time issue. As you say when O’Hare, Sheaf and MVE are back it’ll hopefully feel a bit more controlled and have a general sense of direction.
I think we're just doing enough, agree there isn't a very obvious pattern of play yet but on the other hand we are still a well organised team and individuals know their roles.

Exactly, it looks good and he’s clearly trying hard for the team but a one man press is pretty pointless. I just think it’s about time we start Simms and Wright together, yes they haven’t got the goals Godden has but their confidence will be up and I think two quick, tall, strong strikers might give Norwich something to think about.
You have said this literally hundreds of times in the last few weeks. It doesn’t bother me and you argue the point well but you have said it a lot of times now

Yeah fair enough, I do keep banging on about it tbf, I just feel we’ve got a lot more to offer in attack and we’re sort of reluctant to take that leap forward and try something slightly different. I realise I’ve probably said enough on it now tbf but only reason I bang on about it for so long is because I’m usually faced with a solid wall of Godden-love and it’s quite a nuanced argument, plus I don’t want to come across with too much Godden-hate because I know he will continue to score here and there and I’ll inevitably get the piss taken out of me 😂

Unless Godden comes down with crabs Saturday morning he will be starting. I love MR and what he has done for the club, but damn I wish he was a bit more unpredictable and/or flexible.

We need to keep our good form up and I think we will in this one. Get the ball in the wider areas better and don't have lapse's in concentration like we have done a lot this season and we will be fine.

2-1 to the Sky Blues.

Why would crabs stop him from playing? He's hardly likely to start engaging in sexual relations on the pitch for a number of reasons

Honestly the ball would just keep coming back at us especially if Ayari was playing behind them. I know what you mean though. Maybe just once so they see how crazy it is.
The notion that Godden is great at holding up the ball is complete fabrication.

can we stop pretending he does things he doesn’t to justify a point of view on including Godden.

Godden does 2 things well: finish, movement in and around the box.

Oh but he works hard I keep reading … yes he does, but with little impact. He makes very few interceptions, forced very few errors, etc.

He's been winning his fair share of headers recently to be fair. Set up a great chance at QPR with his head

It's worth pointing out that some supporters on here used to say similar things about Jamie allen and his workrate
" he runs around alot " etc etc as a negative slur against his ability and tireless efforts 👌

You lot are boring

Is Godden a great goal scorer? Yes

Are we a poorer squad without him 100% yes

Does he go missing and become a passenger in some games? Yes.

Is 31 goals an 8 Assists at this level in 92 games a decent return? Yes

I get the argument from some that sometimes the game can pass him by or he's contributed the square root of fuck all the odd time, fair enough

But the man literally scores goals. Do we get out of League 1 without him? Absolutely not. His 39 Goals and assists over the last 3 seasons, at championship level completely go against this view of him being 'shit' or a 'passenger' so to be honest id come down on the side that those who slate him are actually those in the wrong
