Thing is, it took him forever to get there, still wasn't a 90 minute performance... and then he got injured straight after a couple of games where it looked like he had finally arrived!

Needs more, more often. If it was just technical ability, may as well ask Jose Perdomo back.

I doubt he will ever be a 90 minute player, he will be an impact sub or a starter that’s replaced in the second half.

And tbh with 5 subs from a bench of 9 I’m not sure that this won’t be the way of the world now. It’s perfectly possible for a talented, mercurial player to build a career now without having to play 2 full 90 mins every week.

I really don’t get what people see in Palmer. Had a couple of decent games but was decidedly average for the most part and couldn’t stay fit.

He can do things our other players can’t. Namely pass the ball in the final third.

Id argue that Shipley and Bayliss or whoever it was weren’t wingers. I can’t see past 2 AMs and 1 ST or visa versa personally. I wouldn’t want to mess with Hamer and Sheaf either. Which pretty much means five at the back.
