We can read the runes though. From the outside it smells very much like agent driven stories are the only interest outside Sporting. The gamble with keeping Vik in Jan was not letting it fuck up this summer because this summer is massive. Probably bigger than any in my lifetime.
He needs to either back himself and bridge the cash or get it done.

It's just the usual hissy fitting.
The players have only just returned to training, there's not been a great deal of business done anywhere, people need to calm down.
Like I said, we've discarded decades of 'should have held out for more' in favour of 'take the money'.
The last 3 transfer windows have been poor, especially January 2023 and summer 2022 with a pitch cluster fuck thrown in for good measure, we got through it, quite successfully in the end so a bit of perspective required.

My thoughts exactly.
If Doug wants to hold out for some more cash, fine. But he has to show faith in his ability to realise that cash by fronting some money to get MR's targets in.
No use having an extra £2-3m if all your preferred targets have now gone elsewhere.
