Oddly I think myself Agnes was referring to the genocide that strangely began in the 1930’s. I guess you think she’s talking about the Boston Tea Party
the genocide began in 1941

This is a serious blunder by the bbc. We may see broadcasters take actions which could escalate into industrial dispute.

BSB said in this thread that he would lose his job if he openly held the opinion that this multiple gender nonsense was indeed nonsense. That's genuinely way more concerning than whether a few celebs get displaced from one platform to another.

Without revealing too many details, a colleague of mine lost his job for getting the nationality of a well known figure wrong by mistake.

If I openly said that multiple genders were nonsense I’d be gone too-no question.

Are you serious? Also a lot of laughing emojis from people that obviously have absolutely no awareness of what goes on in society.

There is infinite amount of attempts to cancel civilians and celebrities for holding right wing or conservative opinions, or more appropriately, not woke ones. Most cancel culture is related to race, gender, and sexuality - the leftists trifecta. Literally go on google and have a look. It isn't just celebrities either, it is the real world with people losing their jobs for not conforming to standards put in place by those on the left.

Post 'All lives matter', get fired. Post 'white lives don't matter', get promoted. No it's not a joke. That's a real example. Google that too.

Have a chat with Gina Carano and JK Rowling if you want to be that ignorant. Even Davina McCall talked recently about the one attempt people had to cancel her, for sticking up for men. Ever seen the Simpsons and Apu? You'll have to go back in time. Cancelled.

It's not exclusive to the left, but it is absolutely comes from that direction most of the time. To go full circle: 'It's ok when we do it'.
JK Rowling (definitely not cancelled) and Gina Carano (sorry I had to Google) doesn't strike me as a tidal wave of cases, nor do either of them (or race-baiting slogans like 'All Lives Matter') seem comparable to someone getting suspended from their job for criticizing the government to me. But that's not to say I'm fuming at what's happening to Lineker either - employers should be allowed to hold their employees accountable if they think they're damaging their brand, within the reasonable boundaries of free speech. But it's up to the employers to communicate that properly in the first place.

the Wannsee Conference was in jan 1942

Completely insane and very worrying.

Which is also a massive problem imo

For decades it’s been accepted that teachers will let off steam in the staff room after a bad lesson or a tough day. Likewise for years teachers have built relationships with their classes by telling anecdotes, using humour and bantering a bit. In the last few years however this has become unacceptable and I have watched multiple colleagues be forced out of their jobs for things that weren’t an issue even 5 years ago.

It means that I don’t go anywhere near anything even slightly off topic in lessons because it could land me out of a job.

Another thing I’m amazed hasn’t been highlighted on here - 50% want people on boats banned for life from the uk and 36% oppose

always how you ask the question really

I can't wait for Tom Bradby on the ITV news tonight: - What on earth is going on at the BBC?

I do wonder, if we remove people from TV for airing their views about the government, how does that make us any different from Russia and the Marina Ovsyannikova incident? She spoke out about the Russian government ON AIR, and was removed. Lineker criticises the government in his private time and is also removed from air.

You literally said you were done 15 minutes ago.

It's a leading question though, you'd get a differing result if you say asked "should people who are valid asylum seekers be deported for using an illegal route while there are currently no legal routes open"? That's a leading question as well but would give very different results

Fucking hell. I expect him to suddenly develop plutonium poisoning anytime soon

I don't give a fuck about Lineker. I don't watch motd to see him, I watch it for football .
As for his tweets I suggest he open a hostel or buy up half a dozen hotels, perhaps near the french coast so he can help the migrants .
As things stand, and with his wealth, I'd have thought actions speak louder than words.
Like this?

I would of thought he'd have had his agents straight on the blower but fair fucks to him

At least they’ve always got one big gun to fall back on tomorrow night…

Yes he had enough of him after a couple of weeks - amazing gesture - I know someone whose had a Ukrainian family for 6 months - but in sure Gary wasn’t doing it for publicity

Congrats to your acquaintance 👏👏👏👏👏Did Gary also get money from the government for taking in a refugee?

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Why we need the infantile well what's he done for having a belief, fuck knows, but given he has actually backed action with words, it seems one fair to point it out.

Or we can just snipe, and say Harold Wilson said a nasty thing in 1983, so therefore we must ignore all injustice.

Ridiculous.
Do you think he would have been cancelled if he had tweeted support for the Government's approach? No of course not.

Meanwhile we have the Chair of the BBC who has donated funds to the Tory party; is a friend if Boris Johnson and arranged for a Johnson to get a loan. No double standards at all.

Truly shocking. This is worse than the Linneker issue. Keep the plebs ignorant about climate change so they don't realise how important it is and how hopeless the Government is at tackling it.

Just another day at the woke, liberal, BBC which is always pandering to the left.
