Some bullshit for you all, again racism claim, go to claim or a problem?
Some derby fans are genuinely a different breed

They carry on slagging city after one of their own supporters posts that he was hit by one of his fellow supporters while pushing a wheelchair because they thought he was Cov.

Says it all.

For me part of football is the fans mixing before and after the game with good banter being to chat about the game like adults.
It was a week ago 15 mins after the game vs Blackburn we was sat down in a pub mostly blackburn in there bought a blackburn fan a pint. Was a pleasure being there. This is what football is about.

Really dont think yesterday's incidents is a fair reflection of the majority of our fan base.

Fair enough people complaining about their kids seeing stuff like this.....but I remember being at Maine road as a kid with the old man, was fucking chaos, absolutely loved it. Hooligans tend to target other hooligans, let them do it. The world outside football is a really fucked up place. A scrap up the match shouldn't upset anyone. Perhaps educate your kids what's going on in Haiti or Afghanistan, bit of perspective needed.

Sorry, thats bullshit.

How are we supposed to get the fans of tomorrow interested in the club if people won't take them because of a 'scrap up the match'?

Football is a pile of shit at the moment with finances, UEFA, corruption, Sky. We don't need any more reasons to stop going.

Any coventry fan involved in this sort of rubbish is an absolute disgrace. It's not being hard real men dont need to resort to any sort of aggression or violence.

Ruined the game for me. Worst of all it contributed to them equalizing.

A couple of people have said it contributed to the equaliser I am interested to hear why.

So hooliganism is a new thing? Never stopped me or any other person on here following us 30 years ago. People are just far too soft. FAR FAR worse things going on in the world that a pathetic scrap up the football. Open your eyes mate

Did that stop the current generation going when there was trouble like this most weeks?

Agreed but that doesn't stop me from being baffled with families taking children into block 15/16.

It’s not families sitting in 15/16 causing the problem though. Nor will it ever be. More kids were fine than were upset.

That’s a fucking joke. There was no fucking racism at all. Bottles were going both ways all the time.

It was a shit show from both sides.

Of course but when there's 20,000 other seats to sit in, I'd never take a kid into a section which is known for poor language, aggressive teenagers and coked up blokes.

A large element of Derby fans had made their intentions clear before, during an after the game , and in my eyes got exactly what they deserved they were on the grass verge trying to get at ANY home fans walking down and then let’s be honest went and sought out a family social club thinking it was an easy target .. hope there is a load of sore heads in derby today and 99% of people on here would of done the same if they were sitting with family and friends

I think the guy in green was being called a fat bastard, show us your tits, that kind of thing, he seemed happy to oblige when he lifted his top up. Yesterday was one of those days when 2 fairly small sections of both fanbases spent the entire game shouting and gesticulating at each other and got what they went for, which certainly wasn't to watch the game being played on the pitch. No excuse for it.

I could hear that being chanted from the opposite corner in Block 31, plus a cheer when he presumably obliged. Couldn't hear the racist chant that the Derby fan posted was being sung at the guy in green - just the above (albeit I was a distance away)

Didnt really notice anything from 24 until they went for the flag, then everyone focused on that rather than the game.

A few pissed/charlied up Derby early at the station set the tone for it though

My lad (then 10 or 11) was proper upset a few years back when a open bottle of coke landed behind his seat and covered him during a goal celebration in singers corner. Happy to say it didn't set him back for long, indeed (now 14) he quite enjoyed watching it all unfold yesterday.

I know it shouldn't happen, but let's not make too much out of it - it's not like it happens every week is it?

@Gynnsthetonic not sure why you're wowing that post mate.
Look at the footage on social media, literally standing there while people get up to all sorts of misbehaviour.

Of course its not a new thing. But how many more supporters of tomorrow might we attract if it wasn't for fucking idiots like those from both clubs yesterday? I do realise that it was mainly Derby as well. Throwing fucking signs over a fence into a pub? If you think that's ok as its the sort of thing that's been going on for 30 years, then good on you.

And I'm not blind...im obviously aware of all the other shit things in the world FFS. But this is a forum about Cov and a handful of our fans were bellends yesterday. Shit like that with little knob heads, coked up to their eyeballs is the sort of shit that makes me not want to take my boy to watch the club. Surely that's a bad thing for the club?

I normally agree with a lot of what you say Greggs, but we're polar opposites on this. Its not acceptable...im not soft...I just don't want shit like this forcing us to justify that football isn't really like that to rugby idiots etc and I want to take my family to games in the future without worrying about coked up bellends from rival clubs thinking its the fucking 80s.

No...but this isn't the 80s and that doesn't make shit like yesterday alright for families wanting to take their kids to a match.

I know there's a few that see this differently to me but I don't care. I feel strongly about the safety of my family when I take them to football and I don't want my lad seeing shit like that.

It also completely misses the point that attendances dropped off a cliff in the 80s precisely because of the trouble and only rose again once it became safe to go to the game.

There is so much bollocks spouted in this thread

I can't remember the last there was any major trouble in the ground. Sheffield United was just a 1 on 1 fight but people are acting like it happens all the time.

The cov on cov fights, well what can you do to stop it? if you get 20k people in 1 place a handful will be roasters

The incident at the Cherry Tree? While not condoning violence the Derby fans thought they could smash up a social club and chase off a few cov fans but were soundly beaten off back to Derby with their tails between their legs. Tough shit for them.

they were really shit yesterday especially the 2 who lost their hats while standing around doing fuck all

if they'd dragged a couple of their support who were encroaching on the segregation out it would have put a stop to a lot of it there and then .

Fair enough mate, good honest reply. Of course it's not acceptable, i hope your lad didn't get scared by it. This will die down, policing is different than it was 20 odd years ago. Drones, body cams and other techno shit will capture the culprits and see them banned. Enjoy your evening mate.
