Now I may be playing devils advocate here. I don’t think you’ve been to all 91 have you? Also the chair is the rep on the safety advisory group. The situation is not as simple as you make out and is under review
I've been to I think 51 now and never seen this.

Just wait a few minutes or walk round the other way
Or we could settle on a solution that doesn't inconvenience people, put them in danger of an accident or actually increase violence but just not in a way that the club has to report on it.

It would be easier to convince people to turn up an hour before kickoff if the queues for bars weren't so outrageous.
And if it was a bit cheaper & better quality. Telling people to turn up an hour before kick off to sit in the cold and rain or stand in a cramped concourse drinking expensive beer isn't going to work. Not sure what the solution is as you can't magically create more space on the concourse. Even if you have a fan village type thing in the hall you've still got to come out and queue up to get in.

It's annoying because the stadium must have been designed to accommodate this many people so it must be the way it's managed but of course all we're told is to sort ourselves out instead of them working out why it takes half an hour to get in.

How many entrances are there? Pretty simple test. See how many people per minute you can get through the gate and then divide the expected crowd by the number of gates. Then you know how long it should take to get everyone in and if it takes longer something is wrong somewhere.

Off the top of my head I can't remember, is there season ticket only gates? The number of people who don't seem to know how to scan tickets seems high, are they mixed in with season tickets and slowing everyone down?

To be fair. the safety advisory group for the Ricoh has always been over the top. ridiculous amount of segregation.

With the temporary fence. It only takes one small event to create a stampede and will be carnage.

Yes they are. Then it needs a steward to get in to show them.

Also annoying to have to show your ticket to a steward and then have it scanned to let you in anyway.

ST only lanes would definitely speed it up for the elites.

Yep that’s the safety issue for sure

I don’t doubt there’s big queues but how long is it taking to get in? 20000 arriving at 15 mins to kick off will not all get in the ground

I’ve been watching recently and it’s been much quicker getting in. I’ve also caught some premier games on sky and people do seem to get into the ground earlier than us lot. I think it’s fair to say you can’t expect to turn up at 2.45 and waltz in for 3
I have missed the last two home games, so hopefully it's improved. Worth pointing out one of mine was a 2.15 arrival and got into the ground as we were taking the knee. Understand if it was 2.45 and tight, but noone should expect to have to spend 45 minutes getting into a ground. Most of my mates are Villa fans (boo, hiss) so I go with them every now and then, and a much, bigger stadium, we have rocked up at 2.45 and had zero problem getting into seats for kick off

Spoke to a friend that works on large events. This is called the flow rate and the industry standard is apparently 10 people per minute but 20 people per minute is not unachievable if you're not searching people. Apparently there are 45 turnstiles so, if you assume an even distribution of people, you're looking at 45 minutes to get everyone in with all gates open and a constant flow of people, ie: no 'I can't scan my ticket' issues.

So essentially the club are right, you need a constant flow of people in the hour leading up to the game to have any chance of getting a 20K crowd in before kick off.

Its nice of Mr Boddy to say we are a much bigger team and fans need to recognise this. When will the club and not still have the same commercial staffing levels when we were in League 2?

I don't think they necessarily help as you can't take the pints inside can you? People are still going to wait till just before the game but outside the stadium instead of the pub.
I think you can take them in. We took ours in before the Peterborough game no attempt to hide them and so did everyone else in the queue nothing was said

That's good, they need to get the word out about this then as I didn't buy from them as thought I'd have it taken off me.

Yep that’s why they got the vans outside for Peterboro but that almost closed the road. Keep giving the feedback and we can then ensure the club are aware
You mean the road outside the east stand? That's always been an accident waiting to happen. Can they not adjust the gate out of the car park onto the A444 so it can also be used as an entrance?

Given they don't direct people to empty spaces you tend to see car park A fill up first, if they're going to start closing that road off and making car park B aren't they going to have to turn people who have already paid away?

Part of the overall discussion about the arena footprint. The police would close it to traffic an hour before if down to them

Pete mate, can you ask what the recommended course of action for fans who have mobility issues is if the ground is closed to cars after the game? Had to wait for an hour with two kids after Peterborough because we couldn’t make it to Tesco. Should we be buying a car park pass?

Issues come and go but sometimes can only walk as far at the road by the arena, other times can get to Arena Park so a bit hesitant to spend loads on car parking and also would quite like to be able to leave the car with the person not going to the match. Are we asking too much or missing an obvious solution?

This is a blue badge holder if that matters.

Why couldn’t they get there? Number of people?

There have been some woeful experiences for our less mobile fans booking a space and none being available.

Can’t walk that far basically and the steps. When it’s good no problem but if the issue flares up can’t make it and needs to be picked up by the ground.

What am I misquoting?
Ignoring the facts that the club are responsible for public order on the footprint so have sought expert opinion to resolve the issue. Lots of other clubs close while roads outside stadiums and you seem to be ignoring this

The police still manage public order outside of the footprint but ccfc don’t pay for it

It’s acknowledged there’s a safety issue forcing lots of people through a small gap and the police are helping the club by taking another look at this.

And there’s no access to car parks?

Id email kevin heffernan - he’s the disabled member rep on the forum and Tynan Scope to ask whether there is a solution they can think of. I’ve private messaged his email
