M25 blocking (2 Viewers)

Governments don't have much interest in tackling issues that won't be resolved until long after they're gone from power. The only way to change that is for ordinary people to convince them it's an urgent priority for them at the next election.
That’s interesting so you are saying people can have their minds influenced by zealots like Liam who want power and attention regardless of the cause and tbe gullible sheep follow and glue themselves DJ a road

yes agree. Whose the twat whose really behind this? I’ve forgotten his name.
yep

No I wouldn’t - if they had applied some glue at the back of a stand at ascot and had a laugh with the officials and then went home for tea it really would t be very impactful - your comment about children striking from school was hilarious

So you're saying they should stop their current Fawcett-phase and instead go full on Pankhurst and attack MP's and blow shit up?

I was going to say something similar as the ignorance is amusing- if this crew did what the suffragettes did we’d get the usual slew of “bring back the death penalty” posts. It was classed as a terrorist campaign at the time.

Clearly something has to be done about climate change, but blocking the M25 isn't the answer. I'd much rather they protest outside Westminster

Either way the UK contributes very little in regards to CO2 footprint, unlike China, India, USA, Russia etc... Why arent these protesters and Greta aiming their passion at them?

They are.

India and China are well down the list FYI. Canada and Australia are worse. The oil producing countries the very worst. Of course they aren’t producing all that oil for themselves…

Love how people always refer to suffragettes every time. Is David Johnston still rushing to get in a sleeping bag knowing the cameras were on?

You can't honestly think that children marching in protest will change how Boris Johnson thinks ? Or acts ?

The government know the data , they know know the effect it will have on their own children's children .. and yet we are still here asking why countries are opening more coal mines

Almost every time I visit London, there's some protest or other going on. Never makes the news.

Even the anti-Brexit bloke (Steve Bray) was treated as a figure of fun by the media, because the only people he annoyed were the journalists doing interviews.

Again, the issue when people did CCFC related protests is that they just wanted to get their faces on the TV regardless of if it would make a difference.

Steve Bray gave up a successful business to protest Brexit, the anti war guy from Redditch put up with shit living conditions aeay from his family and the Kurt's are often down there, whether you agree with them or not I doubt their motivation is/was to get on TV.

Exactly. Here we all are talking about climate change. Just like we all talked about racism after the BLM protests (which the same people said did nothing) and sexism after the Sarah Everard protests.

Cunts or not , you can’t argue they aren’t effective.

Why do people keep suggesting Insulate Britain stop protesting on the M25 and instead protest against China etc? How is that going to help achieve their aims?
That the UK government immediately promises to fully fund and take responsibility for the insulation of all social housing in Britain by 2025;

That the UK government immediately promises to produce within four months a legally binding national plan to fully fund and take responsibility for the full low-energy and low-carbon whole-house retrofit , with no externalised costs, of all homes in Britain by 2030 as part of a just transition to full decarbonisation of all parts of society and the economy.

Do you think people weren't talking about climate change before them? If anything, all the talk is about them being pricks (not just on here).

They are only effective if they bring change and achieve the aim.

That's why I specified CCFC ones where the aim was to be on TV.

Although the Brexit guy, his whole thing is getting onto TV isn't it?

We’ll then fuck off and do it outside downing street. Outside Westminster palace somewhere the decision makers will be inconvenienced

I've literally not seen a single positive thing said about these people other than on here (shock.) They are achieving nothing other than uniting people in thinking they are a bunch of pricks.

NI wouldn't say so. He gave up a successful business to protest.
He's a fervent remainder but I doubt he does it to get on TV. He's been targeted by the far right as well, that's alot to put up with to get on the news.

Is he the guy who literally stands behind news crews?

To be honest, with some people I think there may also be a slight mental health issue. (Not saying that as an insult, as somebody who has also suffered). Like that Liam guy, he sounded completely brainwashed. Just like hearing somebody from a cult documentary.

Oh on here you have people who love a protest regardless of what it's about. (as long as it lines up with their politics of course).

The same suffragettes bollocks was said about the knobs "protesting" about CCFC who felt so strongly about the cause half of them don't even bother.

"People are talking about it" doesn't qualify as a successful protest about "Insulating Britain". Britain being insulated would be a success.

People also talk about skinheads with union jack tattoos on their calves protesting too. You won't find the same people backing them though ;)

Them Monday protesters in East Germany, just a bunch of attention seekers looking to get on TV. Never achieved anything, that will teach them.

How many thousands / tens of thousands / hundreds of thousands of failed protests are there for every one of those?

Pretty sure you said the same about the bullshit the trust was doing as well.

"The Suffragettes protested so it must mean that some batshit mental old people sat in the motorway are going to change the world too".

Steve Bray is not in the same league as that Liam fella. He's actually fairly articulate and I think his intentions are genuine even though I think his protest ran its course a long time ago.

That Liam is a moron who doesn't seem to understand what he's protesting about.
