Phillips is among the best we have in that position, agree on Mings though.

Mings is an absolute liability. He can surely only be picked purely on the basis of him being left footed. There's countless better options including his own club mate.

We played for an hour with 10 men against Denmark and started with the game with 6/11 of our probable strongest line-up.

Yeah we lost to Croatia at the World Cup but they’re a worse side now than they are today, and we’ve beaten them at Wembley since then. As for the Czech’s, they’re not a bad outfit and while we did lose to them away we did also batter them at Wembley.

Sure, we’re not great in the centre of defence but we’re really not as bad as some are making out.

My team for Croatia depends heavily on if Maguire is fit. If he is I’d go 4-3-3 and go Pickford - Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw - Henderson, Rice, Mount - Sancho, Kane, Grealish

And if he’s not, 5-2-3 with James, Walker, Stones, Mings, Chilwell - Rice, Mount - Sancho, Kane, Grealish

We played Denmark twice and didn't score a goal , they took 4 points off us

It used to be exciting because you didn’t know loads of the players and teams would turn up with a different style. Now everyone tries to play this slow possession game and even players from the smallest teams play for Brighton or someone.

I don’t even particularly like Southgate but people will moan like fuck all tournament, he’ll get sacked then someone else will do the same thing and get moaned at.

This is a bit like when Cov fans moan because we put in an uninspiring performance against someone like Swindon in pre-season. I doubt any more than 5 of that lot are going to start against Croatia. It’s unfortunate because of how the European finals have worked out but that was a pretty pointless exercise given how many players we had missing.

I’m really excited. The sun might be out. We can go to the pub and watch meaningful football with friends again. My expectations aren’t sky high, which probably helps, but I’m guessing I’m not the only one looking forward to it.
