Bigi off to Newcastle (1 Viewer)

Obviously I know how everyone gets slated on here for posting rumours etc. but I have a couple of friends who are Newcastle fans up in the North East and they seem to think that a deal taking Bigi to the toon army has all but been agreed. Can't say I'm surprised, given that Newcastle have produced a succession of top flight players in recent years (Steven Taylor, both Ameobis, Bramble to name a few), and the fact that they have been linked with him fairly heavily in the past.

Do think Bigi would have been better off with more gradual first team exposure at a lower level with us, but this is what footballs like these days.

Can't see it happening at this stage but if it did I'd be very surprised if he wasn't loaned straight back to us.

Wouldnt be a bad arrangement. We receive money and still get to play him. Might even allow us to keep Keogh.

A deal being all but agreed? What does that mean? That it hasn't been agreed?

We've all but agreed to sign messi...all we need to do us get Barcelona and messi to agree to it

He is having problems, told AT he does not want to go. Says he does not want to leave his family or his Church.

The Newcastle scout was at a fair few games last season. I saw him myself, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were looking at him.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bigi actually quit football if they tried to get rid of him. He loves the club and the area.

Good on the lad. Look, I know that for his development he should probably move on, but its so good to see some loyalty, especially at this level. I know it might not matter what he wants but its nice to hear things like that. Same with Thomas.

good to see his family life is so important to him, and from what i read about how he came to coventry and asked for a trial all he wants to do is play football and is very greatful we gave him that chance.

lets hope thats enough to keep him here if he gets to have a say in things.

What I've heard is that the deal has been agreed in principle, just have to iron out formalities, hence 'all but agreed'. Only passing on what I have heard.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think he is a top lad and the most exciting player we have to watch... but not a big loss if he leaves... a shame! but not a loss. And he certainly hasn't gone for 3.5m. ON CRACK? More like 500k.

noooooooooooooooooooooo this would be 3 steps back, hes got talent and we deserve to see it at the ricoh for at least a few years

we cant afford to lose any midfielder right now anyway

He has unproven talent that may never reach fruition. If an offer of around £1.5 million came in and we invested that in new players he would have to go

He will play very few games next season anyway.

Yeah it's clearly utter rubbish. For £3.5m we'd be laughing.

you think? if he stays hell be 1 of 4 central midfielders, i would imagine he will play 20-25 games minimum

He didn't play much last season. Would you put him ahead of fleck, baker, mcsheffrey, bell, deegan or Thomas? I wouldn't.

He played nearly 30 games last season. I'd miss him if he went as I think he's got loads of talent and the potential to be a top player.

Theres nothing on the local newcastle radio, or in the local rag or on Newcastle utds forums about bigi signing for them!

Unless its an investment for the future they have no need for him and if they did sign him there best bet would be to loan him straight back to us to gain some more experience

I think he'd be a big asset in this league, even at his current level of ability. Without Clingan and Norwood he's probably the best passer of a ball we have. Until the sending off against Burnely he was genuinely excellent. He tailed off significantly after then, unfortunately. But if he can play at a similar level to how he started last season he will play a lot of games this year.

They want him as they know the SISU scum will cash in at the first offer, and when in 2 years he'll be worth 20 times what they pay. Great business sense, something we aren't used to, obviously.

Newcastle are putting together a development squad of good young players after getting rid of a number of youth team players. If Bigi goes he won't be coming back on loan...

IF Bigi has gone I hope they are clever enough to put a sell on clause on that transfer. Nice way to recoup some money SISU... Hell you can sell Fleck once he has a stormer of a season too.

I said I wouldn't go if we sell Gael..the hour inches near. I guess it's going to save me loads of dollar!

How many excuses do you have?!!

1 excuse, 1 principle. They aren't connected but overlap. I've said plenty of times about the message selling Gael would spell out, it's just something I really wouldn't be able to stand by and tolerate. Gotta draw a line under it somewhere!
