I have never heard any City fan say that Adebola was comparable to Pele. I liked Adebola. He had power and pace and was skilful for a big man. I also liked the way that he came ‘back from the dead’ loaned out, written off but came on as a sub in his first game back and immediately got fans on his side. It turned out that he had been playing with an injury when he first arrived which held him back. We have had a lot of centre forwards better than Adebola and Biamou. I think that for the levels they have played at they have been good players for us.
You say that you support Biamou when he has the shirt and want him to do well, put it seems that post after post in this thread you are typing it through gritted teeth. You say that admiration for Max is irrational, that if people only looked at the facts they would see things differently, as you see them in fact.
I want our team to do well. I think that when all fit, our best team would have two strikers, probably Godden and Walker.I wouldn’t want Max to play if we have a better alternative. However, I think that Max gives us something different to the other two that might mean that on occasion he is used as first choice over one of the other two. I don’t know what you see when you watch Biamou play, I think that you have a different rationale to what I see. To me Biamou has a real physical presence. He wins a lot of aerial challenges, often playing the ball on to team mates. He is skilful on the deck and is good at holding up the ball and bringing other players into play. Take out his first non-scoring half season at the club and his minutes/ goals ratio is good. He scores the sort of goals that no one else in the team is capable of scoring (ie Peterborough away) This season, I think Max has played well, got into good scoring positions, started to score goals and has not looked out of place in the Championship.
I’m not interested in selfies, his social media or how much he proclaims his love for the club. I’m only interested in what he does on the pitch (although it does please me how he is written off so many times but keeps coming back. Most of us love the underdog).
What I don’t get is that straight after what was probably his best performance for the club, you and a few others seem intent on telling everyone that for the club to progress he needs to go in the summer, comments that could be construed as trying to justify past views and opinions on this player.
You may be right, this may be his last season. I know that the club were prepared to let him go to Swindon in the summer if Swindon had been prepared to pay more of his wages. However, wouldn’t it be better to wait and see what happens over the next few months? If Max gets a run of games, something he has never really had for various reasons, he may actually justify another contract.

I think if there is going to be a fair debate you can’t exclude a half seasons worth of games

Godden has scored 19 in 44 games in all comps at the club.. 18 in 36 in the league.

He's got to go back in when fit

Anyway... Here's hoping we win tonight and Biamou scores.. After all, we want our strikers scoring goals

No, I remember the league games too. While it took him a while to get going with regards to goal scoring, I actually think his overall play improved quite dramatically from the useless display he gave against Blackburn in his first performance.
With regard to League 1, I thought he started off quite well against Scunthorpe and was then injured very early on at Blackpool. He then came on as sub against Bolton the following season but incurred Robins wrath for not holding his position on the left of the attack as instructed. It took him a while to work his way back into Robin's plans. His League 1 career is therefore condensed between October-March last season? I remember his sending off v Accrington and can think of and can name (if asked) some good performances I think he gave. I genuinely can't think of any stinkers.
In a way I believe you betray your view of him by referring to performances 3 years ago.
I think that since getting into the team this season, Forest mistake apart, he has played well and contributed to positive performances. You disagree?

Forest game he played well but all anyone mentions is the mistake. It was a mistake, but he's not the only player who made one that game.

He's obviously not a world beater, but he gives you effort and offers something different to our other strikers. If he plays every game like he did on Saturday I don't think anyone will complain (which shows its in there). Consistency is key at this level. That's what we need to see now.

It depends. Firstly I think we'll need to ease him back. Secondly, it depends if you want to stick to the same system. Biamou and Godden play different roles, so it's not a straight like-for-like. Would be great to have 3 strikers firing though so we can rotate.

You clearly want to shag him. Just send him a note and see if he’s up for it.
For the love of God man....please stop embarrassing yourself. Just for one day stop the nonsense. It’s embarrassing enough that you have been so consistently wrong about players, team formation and the manager - but resorting to something that a 5 year old would write - just a whole new level of humiliation. I actually feel sorry for you to be honest at this point - pity at the sad little man typing negative and derisory nonsense all day long.

No, but I think you can give it context. First few months as a professional, in and out of the team.you surely have to look at his starting position and see how much he progressed?

Are you getting a blow up Max doll for Christmas?

Max shows heart and desire but perhaps lacking in efficient quality. I really can’t figure Baka out. Does he show heart and desire? Is it because he’s lacking overwhelmingly in quality that it makes him look like he’s not showing the determination?

I’d love to understand the logic that was deployed in not getting rid of bakayoko in the summer
I can only assume that Robins hoped he may kick on a bit. What I find even more baffling, having seen that he's clearly incapable of kicking on, Robins continues to put someone so utterly ineffective on the pitch.

I didn't watch the game yesterday, so was keeping an eye on the forum and getting a few updates from my Sheffield Wednesday supporting friend. As soon as I heard Baka had come on I simply messaged him to inform that our chances of getting a goal had now disappeared completely.

I honestly don’t know what the logic was in signing Baka. Max I get as he has contributed over the seasons, but Baka is another level.

We should get rid in Jan window
