Been some extremely confusing posts by some people that normally post quite balanced views.. This whole formation topic has seen some absolutely atrocious footballing opinions spewed out🤔
Remarkable

I’m confused by one poster in particular who is usually a staunch fan of Robins

But fans must be realistic and accept that we will play poor sometimes...I wasnt happy with the performance ... That last night isn't a true reflection of how we can play but we played shite and still picked up a point..I cant imagine we will play much worse this season if I'm honest

We've played well and lost a couple times this season already

I think we probably did have the better of the chances (O'Hare in the 1st half, and then his glancing header 2nd half) but we gave away the ball cheaply, and stood off Derby. Their right back / right midfielder was a real danger. Like everyone, I was hoping Robins would go at them a bit more. There are plenty of positives though. Wilson looks decent. Dabo getting back to full fitness and Hamer continuing to impress. Thought Baka & Max looked really dangerous when they came on too.

The Watkins one for Villa did you add that ? His arm was offside 🤣 it’s unbelievable...

Games are being decided by this nonsense

Well that's a mistake then because your arm can't be offside as you can't score with it... But walker seemed to be slightly infront of the last man... And I can only go off the angle of that photo

Quote me calling anyone clueless or saying it’s a tough place to go.

G called me clueless it’s more just the general way people who don’t like this way of playing get shouted down.

If Hamer hadn’t bailed us out we’d have just handed bottom of the league a huge confidence boost through negative tactics and subs

Is it that or are people allowing themselves to be deceived by results against teams in poor form where we are isolating our striker and still giving up chances. Last minute equalisers feel great but Robins took it to ridiculous lengths last night before he made a real effort to attack the game.

We will score very few playing this way.

we had less possession against an injury hit Norwich team yet you keep quoting that game to support your argument

Look I undertstand your frustration I do... But I had several people on here tell me the formation was nothing to do with us losing games... Which in itself is an insane thing to say,as I explained formations directly influence how a game plays out in various ways...

I already said I don't mind the wing back system, but I don't think it's as simple as saying... Play it... We win.

Because we weren't

Do people want to stay up playing dull, or go down playing pretty... Or we could mix it up and utilise several formations as and when required

Nobody has claimed that a formation will solve all our problems. Just that it looked like we were on to something and needed to cut out stupid errors and address the set piece marking. My point to you is that since switching we are toothless going forward but still lapse to mistakes at the back. It’s giving too much up

oh that doesn’t count then

Explain how our shape was responsible for him doing that? Though we’ve already agreed Norwich doesn’t count and Reading who had won nearly every game were in a false position so they don’t count either

But I would also argue that we had several below par individual performances that effected the way the system should work and we will be better than that

Ideally we need to find the balance... But the truth has been said we could have scored 4 tbh despite being genuinely poor

So why is it ok to write off individual errors in one system but not the other? This is what gets on my tits, be consistent

We've already got the worst attacking stats in the league. I dread to see what they'll be like after another month of this set-up.
