Reason For Coventry vs Swansea City Predictions
Newly promoted Coventry have shipped nine goals in their first five Championship starts, and the Sky Blues’ defensive frailties could hurt them again when they welcome Swansea to St Andrews on Tuesday evening.
Despite a decent first half effort against Brentford on Saturday, Mark Robins’ side were scythed open twice early in the second period and their backline is looking vulnerable after conceding three to Bournemouth on their penultimate outing.

I'm sitting on the fence for this one and not liking the splinters I'm getting. Unlike a lot on this forum, our recent performances have given me some reason to be positive. Swansea are not going to boss us around like Brentford, Bournemouth or Barnsley so we should have more space to play in. They also don't start with the letter "B" so that's another negative out of the way 
Our success story last year has been our weakness this, the central 4 midfielders just have not acclimatised as much as we'd hoped or expected. And if they continuously give the ball away, that stops our wingbacks pushing on, everything compresses on the back 3 and Godden is left more isolated than normal.
Will we win ? No but I expect a much closer game this time. Hoping Dabo and Kelly to return and I'm thinking Ostigard to take Rose's position this time round too but still going for Swans to win with a setpiece goal in the last 5 mins. Coventry will definitely be pushing them at the end though.

That’s a brutal preview but I can’t argue with it. Will be another tight first half with them missing a few sitters/scoring one then we’ll give a few presents early doors.
Probably manage 40% possession then at 0-2 or 0-3 they’ll sit off

He visited a mate who tested positive, Rooney himself then got tested which came back negative, but he still has to self isolate. Very surprised Coventry aren't jumping all over this.
They point out that Ayew is likely to have shared room/aeroplane/ coach space with his brother and been in proximity to a load of Ghana players who have tested positive. he has obviously since been involved with the Swansea team last Saturday - some are suggesting they may have to field a load of U23s. Obviously you wish individuals and their families all well regarding health, but surely CCFC should be all over whether he and any associates can be allowed to play (certainly don't see how he can - and surely a load of the others should have to self isolate)

I guess we’ll see. I’m concerned that other than the first game we’ve hardly looked like ourselves at all this year. Options closed off, passes astray under pressure.
Surely if we start that they’ll claim the same with Tyler Walker?

But we knew that it'd be like this, we dominated a lot of games last season and we knew that wouldn't be the case this.
I take it you didn't see the QPR game, particularly the first goal?
We've made decent use of the ball in spells in games, I think everybody needs to relax a little. We have played 3 of the current top 6, all 3 of whom are likely to remain in and around the top 6 all season.

I agree with this. As with most things there's hyperbole and panic everywhere. We're five games in and we're not in the bottom three. This was the concern with people suggesting 'we'll be in the running for the playoffs' before a ball had been kicked. It's very easy to get sucked into the negative spiral. I would be lying if I wasn't concerned by just how far off the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford we were. That said, I didn't expect anything from the game so I'm not sure if that says more about my illogical thinking and unintended dramatization of what actually happened. It's easy to just say 'I don't know where the next point will come from', or 'I can't see us competing with the top sides which means we won't get enough points to stay up' but this is football and anything can happen, and we should all know that five games doesn't define our season one way or another.

We took Walker out and he isolated - not sure how they administer the rule re: close contact/timing. Rooney was 'pulled' when he's tested negative, as he'd come into contact with someone who'd meant to be self isolating (not sure the bloke had even tested positive? I'm unclear on the rules, however Ayew looks like he's been in the thick of a group who have it, and it's difficult to see how he wasn't close to his brother whilst away with Ghana.

Watched them few games ago against Wycombe, They looked decent everything went through Gibbs White ( whos injured) big plus.
We shouldnt be fearing them, as many have said need to be positive and give it a good go! Lets ruffle some feathers! The players we have are good enough to compete. As they have shown in patches in every games.
Would take a draw, but reckon its gonna be a very tight defeat. But the performance will be encouraging.
Players need to believe. When we play as a team we can be more than a match for anyone.
Team selection is important. Sit in on this game.

Think we will pick up at least a point tonight. Got to have some faith in Robins and the players. Hoping Dabo back ...if not mccallum at right wing back. If Kelly doesn’t start I’d go with Baka up top on his own and Godden to come on late (Shipley alongside sheaf). If Kelly starts alongside sheaf then I’d go Godden and allow sheaf more opportunity to get forward

If we keep that formation that's also what I'd do. Having Kelly or not could be instrumental in that because if you've got one of Shipley or Allen next to Sheaf at times it can be like Sheaf is playing that DCM role alone.
Other option if Kelly is unavailable is to maybe try Pask there as he did play it at West Ham and could be more suited than Allen or Shipley. Ideally kelly is fit, we have a comfortable lead and we can take him off for a rest and give Pask a go in that position. Likelihood of that occurring are up there with lottery wins and asteroid strikes though.

I just worry we get so compressed with Godden up front on his own. We need to find a way to give us space to play. Ideally it’s be Walker and Godden but COVID. I think having the flat three of Allen Sheaf and O’Hare didn’t work last game so hoping two DMs sorts that out a bit.

That has been an issue but IMO that's possibly more to do with the WB's. They seem to be playing a bit deeper (not quite a back five but not far off) and we need to get them more in line with the midfield and have faith in the 3 CB's to cover the wide areas a bit more, even if it means having to just put it in the stands to allow us to regroup, and having one of the DCM's drop back more if one gets pulled wide.
If we can get the WB's more upfield as we did in the later stages of Saturday's game, the ACM's can also push up and then Godden too and we're not so compact.
If we're relying on the two CF then we're going to have to go a bit more direct and as you say we need to swap the roles of Baka and Godden or have Biamou doing the deeper role.
