Did you get out of a different side of bed Gibbo? The other day you 'liked' a post from Sick Boy who said we were in for a shock this season and predicted a 4-1 defeat. I prefer your positive side, mate!
Consistency is an over rated virtue.
But I was liking the fact that, amidst all the rose tinted optimism of many, at least one person appreciated that there is a fair chance we could get absolutely mullered. As you can see I still hold to that view.

Walsh could prove our nemesis for this game, giving them insight into our formation/style of play/potential weaknesses.

Could be telling them to press as Marosi can be a bit too blase with the ball, Fadz can also make a mistake, Dabo being out suggests attack down our right.

I would have thought all that would come up in a scout report anyway?

OK so many on here not giving our own team much encouragement. I find that staggering after the very good transfers we have had, MR's ability, confidence in the side and spirit. We were beging to run away with the league last season and we have strengthened really well.

So perhaps then it's time for some honesty and a prediction poll? Put your name on it, then there is no argument. For me I think we will be at least mid table.
The gulf is massive mate budgets are even bigger survival is a massive success this season which I’ll take all day anything else is a bonus but we need to be real with what we expect.

Lads they are a decent team but lets not turn them into prime Barcelona.

Compared to the majority of the teams we played last year they are, but that's to be expected when they have a 8 million pound player in midfield and a 20 million quid ex England squad player in defence

It's not negativity it's realism, anything other than a heavy defeat on Saturday will be a good result

Apprehensive for the long term if I'm honest, these first few games are about bedding in and getting used to the new league so it's all about performance rather than results for me
Results tend to breed confidence which in turn improves performance.

So 5 really unlucky losses and you'd be happier than if we had 5 lucky wins

You really are a weirdo

Have we been parachuted into the Prem or something?

So what if we're playing Bristol City and they've got a player worth £8m in midfield. We held our own against Birmingham City not that long ago who had a £25m player in midfield for them.

Remember about the quality WE have. Yes defence is looking like an area of concern with Dabo, McCullum and Rose all not playing this weekend but remember the reputation that the likes of Ostigard, Sheaf and Hamer come with. We've got arguably two of the best strikers we've in years in Godden and Walker and Marosi is a fine keeper.

I don't think I've ever seen such a covering of negativity before a game. Granted, I'm the eternal optimist and could well be wrong but people are writing us off because of the size of cheque-books. It doesn't always work like that chaps.

Chins up, chests out....

The 20 million quid player he was talking about was Alfie Mawson but he really wasn't worth 20 million quid.

😂 But he was bought for 20 million and was in the England squad at that time so in the eyes of Fulham at the time he was worth that

If he is flapping it this much just wait until we play the likes of Norwich, Derby, Brentford, Watford etc.

People really need to treat Bristol city with some more respect, if it wasn't for the Lee Johnson classic end of the season they would have probably been the play offs last season

But he really wasn't though, the true value of something is not what some idiots pay for it.

But again that is down to personal opinion and seeing him play week in week out isn't it, I have no idea if was worth it as I didn't see him play much so the only thing we can go on is the fact Fulham paid 20 million for him and he was in the England squad

I think Bristol will be right up there come the end of the season, and that they are actually a good value bet given their long odds for promotion. Signing Mawson has made an already impressive back line even stronger. With Walsh introduced they will be even stronger in midfield too, while Wells can always be relied upon for a good goal return at this level. Don't really see how Brunt fits in, and while he has a wand of a left foot which will no doubt be effective on occasions, his lack of pace is a drawback, while the novice manager could also be a negative, but to be fair nobody can really judge his worth as yet.

Given I think they will have a good season (and our poor record at Ashton Gate) I would take a draw as of now, but equally playing them first up evens things up for us, so while my head says 2-0 loss, my heart says we can win. So come on 💓💓💓💓

The history of football is littered with shite plqyers that made 1 appearance in an international squad.

Bristol are a decent but a team if we play really well we can beat.
