An awful lot of talk of piss and shite on here. Have I accidentally come on to a coprophilia site...🤣

Not over excited. Glad the team won, though. It must be nice for you to play in a nice stadium.
Did coprophilia come up when you looked up crap in the thesaurus zzzzz.

Unfortunately missed the first half but from what I've read it sounds like we put a good account of ourselves out there. The only new signing I saw was Hilssner and he looked like he could potentially be good from a technical viewpoint but as others have said well off the pace in terms of fitness.

Some silliness on here. It's perfectly fine to laugh at Rangers fans for getting giddy for beating us considering where we are, but equally, to write them off based on a low-key friendly is a bit much. They are a decent side, and they are still in last season's Europa League are they not? They were mixing it with top European sides last season, we were playing a Fleetwood. I'm not sure we've yet earned the right to say we'd 'smash them' with a full strength side.

It's a pity you feel this way. Our lads have nothing but praise and good wishes for you...

I think alot of us do for rangers... But let's be honest if I went on to rangers forum talking shite you'd all be the same

It's only really aimed at the commentators and some of your fans who think you have won the world cup. Totally oblivious at that point they were our kids playing

Fleetwood looked better.

You have come on here taking the piss out of our ground situation. Don’t start backtracking now.

I don't think we'd smash them, but it absolutely backs up my point theother day the SPL in in no way shape or form better than the championship, considering most people but our fans expect us to go up and get smashed. I had numerous comments the other day saying rangers and celtic were premiership quality and they are far from it at the moment considering one of them is delighted they beat Coventry city u23s in a second half game of football

Fair's fair, only after some of you were completely disrespectful to Rangers based on a meaningless kickabout.

There are supporters of yours claiming they will win the treble and win title 55 based off a second half beating of a Coventry city U23 side.. That's football fans for you

Sounds like an encouraging day out for us. Very solid first half result for the first team and then the reserves/kids gave a decent account of themselves in the second. Much better than anticipated, onto the next one!

It's more the fact we've beaten Nice and Lyon in the past week as well. A defeat of Coventry City on it's own isn't what's getting us going, to be fair.

I’m struggling to see where he fits in mate he’s never played at the level either
AMC in our box behind one striker. Won't work with him deep in a 532 like it was today though, too deep (and with the side we had second half today we rarely got out of our half). Would have been interesting to see him in the first half team in the Shipley/OHare role. He played behind the striker for the U23's last season and isn't a traditional winger in that he always spent a lot of time centrally.

The game served exactly what it was suppose do most of the available squad had 45 minutes at a decent tempo, don’t want to piss on Rangers chips and I wish them the best for the coming season but our team that finished last season would have given them more than a good game.

Can't read the facebook drivel, won't survive in the championship etc etc! You can always tell the people who have never played at a decent level or any. Takes me half the season to get match fit.... plebs.

Let’s be honest. If that’s their first team, our team with Allen, McFadz, Rose and Dabo in (arguably four of our better players) not to mention after we’ve finished in the transfer market, would smash them.

I thought it was a good showing first half when we had a good number of our first XI playing, the first 6 or 7 minutes aside when we looked so rusty. The shape was good and there was quality, just sharpness missing. Hamer looks like a real player, and Giles caused Tavernier a few problems. Some uncomfortable moments in defence, but that's to be expected with the inexperience back there.

Second half was a disjointed mess, the kind you'd expect after lots of subs and two weeks of pre-season. Hilßner looked like he was playing a different sport to the rest of the team, and was probably the only player who looked tubbier than Chicken Alfredo Morelos up front for Rangers.

They were fitter than us but I wasn't overly impressed. Judging on pre-season games is pretty pointless anyway. Bizarre to think that they start their domestic season next week and the Europa League the following week, and we have had two weeks of pre-season.

Drugs are a terrible blight on society. You think Rangers haven't more business to do in the transfer window..?

Hey remember last season when we first saw Dabo and half of us (including me) thought he sucked?

Just saying how it is. First half we had kids filling in. And yes, I expect your team to be closer to finished a week from the season than ours is over a month away.

I’ll take your word on the drugs, not been to Glasgow myself.

You've hit the nail on the head
If that's Rangers best team then they're going to struggle
A full strength Cov would dispatch them no problems

A bit off topic but seems a bit odd that Dabo and Rose both travelled while injured to stick with the squad while in rehabilitation but Allen, McFadzean and Westbrooke didn’t. Anyone know the reason behind that one?

I thought in bits the German fella looked okay must remember he was in a midfield of Jones, Eccles and himself, and with wing backs, just a game to blow the cobwebs out

I remember playing Sunday League football back in the seventies and anyone who wore a vest under their shirt was invariably a recipient of some stronger than necessary challenges (putting it mildly).
I hate to think what have might have happened to someone sporting anything similar to Ryan Kent's pigtails.
How times have changed..
