The fuckers that in a desolate car park with most spaces empty decide to park right next to you

I've had a couple of mouth ulcers, picked up from a girl I spent the evening with, went to see an emergency dentist as I couldn't eat or drink, kept me up for a couple of days too, ended up having my gums sliced open to clear out the infection, was in agony, cost me an absolute fortune for the pleasure too, was something like £200 for 5 minutes work and a box of tablets. Had pain for about 2 weeks after and I was refused further treatment until the infection cleared.

I didn't know they were contagious!

Credit reference agencies. Complete bollocks. I’m near perfect with two, put a mortgage application and and get rejected because they use some weird one with a bunch of wrong information. Have raised disputes but they take 28 days, so will probably lose the house.

Fingers crossed you don't. The market being the way it is at the moment might work in your favour. Did you decide to move away from Finham catchment in the end?

Getting the mortgage approved was a nightmare on my move. Mortgage is about a third less than my rent was. Passed everything fine based on salary etc to get the mortgage agreement in principle but then when it came time to confirm it they said I couldn't afford the repayments despite not being so much as late with a rent payment for the 5 years I'd been renting.

The rather odd way they got it to go through was to extend the mortgage past retirement age. So I'm now paying less per month but they somehow expect me to be able to pay the mortgage when retired.

Yeah I’m moving to Bedworth near the ex so kids are close to both of us.

So fucking annoying. The whole process is so secretive and invasive. And apparently you have to pay monthly fees to about five different people and constantly check they aren’t fucking something up to keep your credit file clean. I’d have though Data Protection would at least mean the onus is on them to get it right first time.

Employers using the economic situation/Covid as a beating stick to try and intimidate people.

I’m a pretty laid back individual, until I feel like I’m being mugged off. I think I’ve got a good threshold until I finally break. Today I came to blows with my workplace because they tried to force me to continue with my workload which would’ve pushed my day to 14-15, maybe more, hours. It was them who delayed me in the first place this morning. So with a hint of passive aggression they told me that I was playing a dangerous game and I’m fortunate to have a job in the current climate. The latter comment is correct in a way I think, many people have lost out. But because I argue and refuse to work more than I’m contractually required to without paid overtime, it’s not fair to throw that kind of comment at your staff who very rarely step out of line.

Agreed.
You work in transport don't you .
So tachometer and safety becomes an issue.
Obviously they shouldn't play that card and exhibits why workers need.protected rights.

Correct, I explained how time would have been pushed because next drop was 70mins away (Wembley to Rainham) then Rainham to Cov was around 2hrs10m. Would have spread me very thin after what I’d done prior to Wembley. You can see why the industry staff turnover is astronomically high, as well as the driver shortage.

If you have an ethics hotline as we do you should ring it - no one should be forced to do more than is physically possible within reason

A subject close to home after my bump in December. An absent/tired mind causes shit in all lines of work, not just mine. Why did you have an accident? Was tired, started at 0430 it’s now 4pm, oh you should’ve aborted final drop. Can’t win.

It's Friday afternoon, the roads can be carnage timewise.
I don't know what they're currently like in the pandemic.

Going back to April/May it was surreal, almost like driving in post apocalyptic Britain, a drivers dream. It’s been pretty normal last few weeks though, everyone’s back to pulling their hair out. What bugged me was we have a Purfleet depot that handles that area.

Isn’t there a massive driver shortage o keep reading about? I’d have thought they wouldn’t be so gung ho about pissing the existing ones off.

Yeah mate. It’s every existing drivers argument. The work is what it is, we know what we’re signing up for. But a lot of days the planners know that they’re mugging you off. Stop complaining about shortage and turnover then. I got the license last March, they told me then that there was a shortage of around 60,000 in this country.

I get pissed off with people calling shopping centres shopping "malls". That's bad enough, but pronouncing it "mauls" should come with a 10 year prison sentence. As standard.

I can understand young girls doing that sort of shit.

Men in their 30s doing it? Who even goes to a BBQ and suggests "I know lads, lets work out this dance and film ourselves"

I can't figure out the thought process.

My guess is they like the attention of the jail baiters...

Snowflakes, never met one before, but I've been moved to a new site and one of the lads here is an absolute baby, everyone else told me to tread on eggshells around him, but I'm currently waiting to go into a meeting with HR, what's put me in this position? I've asked him if he would take a VR package if offered one, to which he burst into tears and started shouting at me.

My gaffer knows his dad and has told me his old man is pulling his hair out with what to do with him.
