Its a tough watch tonight. Sure I'm not the only one who is raging at what I am seeing. Even some of the basic stuff like counting each individual glove as a piece of PPE equipment and counting regular cleaning supplied. So said when one NHS employee said they get called so to make it ok when they die.
Yeah counting each glove as a separate piece of ppe was amazing.

Resign boris just fucking resign as they told you what you needed but you did fuck all

It’s a difficult one as the Tories have their Diane Abbott in the top job and the only person who out Diane Abbott’s him is the person who deputises him when he’s otherwise engaged.
There is no talent in the cabinet none at all.

They reshuffled put the only one who actually did a good job.

I voted for him in the past because I agreed with what he was saying at the time and he seemed to be the only person running who seemed to be talking sense. Then Brexit happened and he played it horribly and ultimately became like an unwelcome streak of piss. He turned a decade of Tory fuck ups into a bumper majority-for them

Florida governor Ron de Santis calls his state ‘God’s waiting room’ and therefore ‘ground zero for the care home crisis’. What a dude

We were told we were aiming for under 20K deaths, we now have more than that in hospitals alone, probably over 40K when all deaths are taken into consideration, how is that a success?
.
If we were told we were aiming for less than 20k deaths who was it that said it was our aim?

One of them things that is frequently quoted but never said.

It was never an "aim" or a "target"....it was the NHS medical director Stephen Powis who said if the UK could keep the death toll below 20K, we'd have done very well....

...we didn't....and so we haven't....

The quote is from Patrick Vallance on 17th March:

“If we can get this down to 20,000 and below, that is a good outcome in terms of where we would hope to get to with this outbreak.”

Ok, fair enough.....I watched Powis say “If we can keep deaths below 20,000 we will have done very well in this epidemic.” at the daily press conference

UK can keep Covid-19 deaths below 20,000, says medical director

......but your guy said it before my guy..... so 1-0 shmmeee

Haha not point scoring, just saying why people think it’s a government “target”. Both people are likely in the same briefing looking at the same data.

I maintain it’s too early to say who has done well/badly. Let’s see where we are this time next year.

Exactly. Never was an aim or target but frequently quoted as an aim or target.

I don’t think we will be cruising the avenue between good and bad, but more between bad and absolutely fucking catastrophic.

The early pages of this thread make entertaining reading.

Take this classic. This is the guy who was condescendingly lecturing people on graphs and data analysis and ending his posts with #micdrop.

We're not on Total Lockdown mate. We established this a couple of days ago.

So you've made yourself look even more of a complete bellend.

Well done

Seriously though can we agree that we are not on total lockdown?

You can argue about what constitutes a lockdown and the various degrees of lockdown but we should all be able to agree if this us not a total lockdown.

I mean if we were in total lockdown we would only be allowed out to get food etc.

All we established is that colloquially the restrictions are referred to overall as "lockdown" and that you have a low reading comprehension as I hadn't even mentioned lockdown.

Maybe one day you will learn to be a bit more humble and then you will stop making an arse of yourself.
